THE CULT Celebrate Their 40th Anniversary With Tour And Recompiled Edition Of 1983 LP ‘GHOST DANCE’

4 May 2024

Famous bombastic Goth-wave rockers THE CULT formed in 1983 as Southern Death Cult with key members Ian Ashbury, the charismatic frontman and guitarist Bill Duffy. A year later they shortened the band’s name to The Cult.

In 2023 they returned and reunited for a handful of performances. And this year they’ll celebrate their 40th Anniversary with a Europe and UK tour (and probably more live-action to come afterward).

Billy Duffy (guitarist): “Following up from the great energy of Death Cult 8323 shows,
I’m looking forward to bringing that sense of celebration of the band’s music, and the communion with our fans, to Cult 8424. CFFC. Let the ceremony commence!”

Ashbury and Duffy also curated the previously released Death Cult collection Ghost Dance from 1983, and recompiled the tracks for a 2024 release titled Paradise Now. It’ll be out on May 17. Pre-order info here .
