PJ HARVEY Invited JOHNNY MARR On Stage For 3 Songs Last Night In Manchester

Last July PJ HARVEY released her 10th album, titled
I Inside the Old Year Dying (you can stream it below).

NME said: “The Dorset-born musician’s first album since 2016 is both elusive
and mesmerising. It takes a little time to immerse yourself in Harvey’s world,
but once there, you won’t want to leave.”

She’s on tour now to promote the album. Last night, she played
the 2nd of two consecutive nights at the Albert Hall in Manchester.

PJ invited former The Smiths‘ guitar hero Johnny Marr (who joins
someone on stage every other week) for these 3 (old) songs.

– C’MON BILLY –
(From 1995 album ‘Bring You My Love’)

– WHITE CHALK –
(Title track from her 2007 LP)

– THE DESPERATE KINGDOM OF LOVE –
(From 2004 album ‘Uh Uh Her’)

21 March 2022

DAVE GAHAN, frontman of melodramatic darkwave popstars
Depeche Mode released a covers album, entitled Imposter last
year along with his SOULSAVERS.

Last weekend they were invited on the American TV Show Fallon
and astounded with a cover of a PJ Harvey song The Desperate
Kingdom Of Love
. A magnetic ballad from her sixth album
Uh Huh Her (2004).

Gahan‘s take is splendiferous. He goes on a high along with
his bewitching performance. Tremendous version executed
with fervor and ardor.
