‘The Last Goodbye’ by THE KILLS

It’s the last goodbye I swear
I can’t rely on a dime a day love that don’t go anywhere
I learn to cry for someone else
I can’t get by on an odds and ends love that don’t ever match up
I heard all you said and I took it to heart

I won’t forget I swear
I have no regrets for the past is behind me
Tomorrow reminds me just where

Can’t quite see the end
How can I rely on my heart if I break it with my own two hands?
I heard all you said and I love you to death
I heard all you said don’t say anything

It’s the last goodbye I swear
I can’t survive on a half-hearted love that will never be whole

Goosebumps When THE KILLS Cover 1961 WILLIE NELSON Pearl

13 July 2021

Song: CRAZY
Written: by country legend Willie Nelson in 1961.
Patsy Cline was the first artist (many followed) to
record the ballad and to score a hit with it in 1961.

Here’s the goosebumps version of The Kills

The first artist who covered the beauty…

Blues Rock Tandem THE KILLS Released 4th Album ‘BLOOD PRESSURES’ 10 Years Ago

7 April 2021

Band: THE KILLS
Who: Blues-punk rockers Alison Mosshart (US) and Jamie Hince (UK)
who hit the scene 20 years ago, in 2001 / 5 albums (so far)

Album: BLOOD PRESSURES – 4th LP
Released: 5 April 2011 – 10 years ago

AllMusic / Heather Phares wrote: “Alison Mosshart leads the way on Blood Pressures,
her dynamic vocals demanding the spotlight whether she and Jamie Hince further streamline their familiar sound or carve out new territory… Blood Pressures is a darker, slower ride than Midnight Boom, but it shows the Kills can make subtle innovations as well as bold ones, and make them fit their signature sound to boot.”
Full review here. Score: 4/5.

And here’s another thrilling taster.

Little Bastards THE KILLS Playing Unreleased Track ‘RAISE ME’ On TV

THE KILLS release a career-spanning B-sides/rarities collection, also including
covers and stray-runoffs, on 11th December.

The compilation is called LITTLE BASTARDS. One of the tracks is a demo of RAISE ME,
a song written back in 2009 and previously unreleased. A vintage The Kills blues-rock cracker with Alison – I still love you – giving it all, as usual. They played it recently live
on an American TV Show.

Little Bastards THE KILLS Put A Spell On You…

4 November 2020

One of my all-time favorite bands THE KILLS release a career-spanning
B-sides/rarities
collection, including also covers and stray-runoffs, on
11th December. Pre-order facilities here.

The compilation is titled LITTLE BASTARDS which was the
nickname for the drum machine the duo used in the early days.

“It was a Roland 880 which isn’t strictly a drum machine. It’s a sequencer,
and an eight-track recorder, with its own drum machine built in, and that’s
what we’d record all our beats on”
says Jamie Hince.

After sharing, a few weeks back, a demo of a 2009 song called Raise Me
(hear below) we get the pair’s version of I PUT A SPELL ON YOU, the 1956
classic which was written by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins and made famous by
Marvin Gaye
and Creedence Clearwater Water.

C’mon bastards…
