Louder Than War says: “An album that draws in the blistering power that the prolific group are now known for, brushing it with touches of pop while at the same time lashing it with the ferocity of their 2011 album, Leave Home, and the proto-psychedelia of their 2010 debut. Bringing it all together, Buyer Beware just might be their most accomplished album to date.”

TUTV: Garage punk rock racket at its sharp-teethed best.
A non-stop salvo of pyrotechnics projectiles. Pretty insane.

Fuzz Club Records: “The Men have a work ethic as old school as their rock roots, yet despite the hustle they never appear to be rushing, a contradiction that somehow naturally resolves itself through their music. ‘Buyer Beware’ is no mere return to their roots—The Men have always moved forward while remaining true to themselves. A clarion call for troubled times signaled by its title, ‘Buyer Beware’ finds The Men tackling questions both personal and political, their sound and vision never more primal or apocalyptic.”

THE MEN – Brooklyn Psych Engines Go Mental On New Blitzkrieg Single ‘PONY’

New album artwork

Mark Perro (guitarist/vocalist): “This one picked up the name Pony cuz it felt a little sugary and sweet. It was one of those things that just came out when we talked about the song and it stuck. I’m really happy with the fuzz tones we got on here, and the harmony vocals from Nick [Chiericozzi] and Jess [Poplawski] take this to another level. Lyrically, it’s about that transitional moment – when the jig is up.”

Pony is an unguided psych projectile that comes after your throat from the get-go. Blitzkrieg speed, paranoid guitars, unbridled percussion, and mental vocals. Sounds
tempting, right, music junkies? Damn bloody punk right!

THE MEN – Brooklyn’s Pysch Rock Shockers On A Roll Live And On Their New Rad Single ‘I SEE THE LIGHT’

Daily noise that works faster than any stimulant

Fuzz Club promo

Last Friday night, Brooklyn‘s rock shockers THE MEN played at the yearly, 2-day indoor
Fuzz Club festival in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Fuzz Club Records is, since 2012, the well-know home of multiple big name psychedelic artists/bands such as The Jesus And Mary Chain, A Place To Bury Strangers, The Black Angels, Elephant Stone, Night Beats and this buzzing Brooklyn quartet.

If Beethoven had been in the venue, they would have steamrolled all over him.
The Men – with 8 LPs since 2008 on their résumé – played a dumbfounded set,
with all cylinders and all burners on, throughout. It felt like there was a whole
psychotic army of noise maniacs up there, on stage. Hallelujah! Helter-skelter.

Here’s an idea of their staggering live force.

And to get us all awake today, I suggest you to play their new
supersonic single I SEE THE LIGHT with the volume to the max.

Seasoned Punked-Up Rockers THE MEN Unleash Their New Album ‘NEW YORK CITY’ On 3 February

New longplayers coming up

17 January 2023

Band: THE MEN
Who: Firm rockers from Brooklyn producing stormy sonic waves
Active: Since 2008 – 9 LPs (new one included)

New album: NEW YORK CITY
Out: 3 February 2023 through Fuzz Club

“On ‘New York City’, nocturnal proto-punk meets a timeless, all-guns-blazing rock’n’roll gusto. That the album leans into a more primitive, back-to-basics sound owes largely to the way in which was forged. The ‘New York City’ album was revised, reorganized and shaped until it became clear that things fall into place like the hammer driving the nail or the scythe’s swipe through the tall grass.”

Based on the three singles (here below) my greedy ears tell me that NYC will be
a steamed-up, fired-up and punked-up motherrocker of an album. Bring it on, men.
