THE WHITE STRIPES: THE WHITE STRIPES
3 July 2021
Band: THE WHITE STRIPES
Meg & Jack from Detroit
Active: 1997–2011 – 6 albums
Album: WHITE BLOOD CELLS
Released: 3 July 2021 – 30 years ago today
Pitchfork said: White Blood Cells doesn’t veer far from the formula of past
White Stripes records; all are tense, sparse and jagged. But it’s here that they
have finally come into their own, where Jack and Meg White finally seem not
only comfortable with the path they’ve chosen, but practiced, precise and able
to convey the deepest sentiment in a single bound. It’s hard to know at this point
in the game where they’ll head from here, but what matters is right now.
Full review here. Score: 9/10.
Turn Up The Volume: Cooking record, and I’ve still a cooking remembrance of
their cooking gig a few months later in Brussels, after the LP’s cooking release…

THE WHITE STRIPES continue to go back
in time and share stuff from the archives.
This time they’ll make all their fans go mental with
this flaming live performance from 2005, from their
Basement sessions, at Maida Vale Studios in London.
Jack White said: “It was beautifully filmed and the sound
quality makes a performance on a regular TV show sound
like a wax cylinder recording. No host. Thank God.”

Band: THE WHITE STRIPES (Detroit)
Active: 1997-2011
Album: GREATEST HITS
Released: 4 December 2020
AllMusic / Heather Phares says: “The idiosyncratic track list shuffles the pages
of the Stripes’ songbook, bringing new life to their music in the process… It’s clear
a lot of love went into crafting The White Stripes Greatest Hits, and its quirks should
make it all the more endearing to fans and newcomers alike.” Score: 4.5/5.
Jack White: “I’d make a White Stripes record right now. I’d be in the White Stripes for
the rest of my life. That band is the most challenging, important, fulfilling thing ever to
happen to me. I wish it was still here. It’s something I really, really miss.”
Turn Up The Volume: Two Nation Army, Jack and Meg, made blues famous

An unforgettable memory. The White Stripes in Brussels in 2001 in a 150-cap club.
The gig was phenomenal but talking to Jack White between support act Von Bondies
and the Stripes performance was pretty cool too! Yeah!
