Watch The Prize-Winning TOM PETTY Documentary

19 November 2021

A new documentary of the late great TOM PETTY making/recording his critically
acclaimed WILDFLOWERS album opened in cinemas around the world last month.

Petty recorded the LP without his usual backing band The Heartbreakers in 1993/1994
and co-produced it with expert Rick Rubin and Mike Campbell (former member of The Heartbreakers). The docu is based around a collection of 16mm archives that weren’t discovered until last year.

The film titled Tom Petty: Somewhere You Feel Free – The Making of Wildflowers premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in March before winning the festival’s coveted Audience Award as well as the prize for Best Documentary Film at the Boulder Film
Festival
a few months later.
