Trip-Hop Trailblazer TRICKY Announces New Album And Shares New Track

New sonic impulses…

12 June 2020

Trip-hop trailblazer TRICKY announced a new longplayer, entitled FALL TO PIECES.
An album of sadness and grief following the tragic death of his 24-year-old daughter
Mazy Mina Topley-Bird who committed suicide. He recorded the LP in his Berlin
apartment, late 2019.

A couple of songs feature Danish artist Oh Land, but the greater part was recorded
with Polish singer Marta Złakowska, who played with Tricky one night a few years ago
in Krakow when Tricky found himself without a female singer. The promoter said he
knew a local bartender who could do the job. Since then Złakowska tours constantly
with the ex-Massive Attack musician.

Here’s the first single FALL PLEASE. A smooth,
vibey meditation. Shadowy and touchy.

6 March 2020

Sound exploring trip hop legend TRICKY released his brand new
3-track EP ‘20.20’ on his own label False Idols today. Three intimate,
hypnotic and stirring ballads.

‘Hate The Pain’ is a slow, stripped to the bone meditation, featuring creative
collaborator & touring vocalist Marta, with the repetitive line ‘I hate this fucking
pain
“. Second track ‘Lonely Dancer’ is a wonderful, yet ominous reverie with
Exploded View‘s puzzling frontwoman Anika and closer ‘M’, an atmospheric
forward-facing instrumental.
