Last week New York’s pop act VAMPIRE WEEKEND released their new, 4th, album Father Of The Bride. Last night they played live on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. Here’s their sprightly version of SUNFLOWER and the studio audience loved it…

Wow! It’s already been almost six years since New York’s pop combo VAMPIRE WEEKEND released their excellent third LP Modern Vampires In The City. But it’s official now. The follow-up album FATHER OF THE BRIDE is finished and ready to hit the streets quite soon. To prove they mean it the band shared two new tracks today. HARMONY HALL is a lively, multi-instrumental and catchy pop song with frontman Ezra Koenig‘s pondering key line “I don’t want to live like this, but I don’t wanna die”. 2021 is a smooth piano driven semi-ballad with Koenig repeating: “where we think about me/I can wait a year but I couldn’t wait three.”

Director: Garth Jennings shot it a Manhattan (NYC) alleyway – the jumpy clip finds the band rolling up and down a dolly track and going hyperkinetic to match the punky speed of the song’s mega energetic rhythm !
Garth Jennings on the video: “I think 100 videos have been shot in that alley; it’s probably one of the most shot-in alleys of all time – I didn’t know that when we got it, but we’ve since found out that people like AC/DC have all done their thing down there – it’s called Cortlandt Alley, near Chinatown – it was big fun !”
