SONIC YOUTH Donate All Proceeds Of New Album ‘LIVE IN UKRAINE – 1989’ To Ukrainian War Victims
15 April 2022
Noise rock icons SONIC YOUTH are joining
the many artists who released (old/new) music
lately, in financial support of the Ukraine war
victims.
A few months before the Berlin Wall came down in 1989,
the Sonics toured across Lithuania, Russia, and Ukraine, all
part of the USSR at the time. they followed in the footsteps
of Western bands such as Nick Cave, Einsturzende Neubauten,
and Discharge who also played in those countries.
The Kyiv show in Ukraine on 14 April 1989 was
recorded and is now available on Bandcamp for
only 10 USD (or more).
The quality is not top, but good enough to buy and support
World Center Kitchen – #ChefsForUkraine.
