Oklahoma’s Psych Junks WICKED SHIMMIES Get High On ‘HI-FI DOG FOOD’…

28 November 2019

Psych junks WICKED SHIMMIES out of Chickasha, Oklahoma are back with a fresh wacko single. I know these guys love to mess with your brain cells and probably with their own too. But their new single, called ‘HI-FI DOG FOOD’, starts with a pretty chill out jam driven by a playful, groovy drums/bass beat with spacey guitars floating all over it. Both mind-pleasing and stimulating… so far.

But around the 2.20-minute mark it’s ‘what the hell is going on’ time. Everything turns fuzzy, spooky and eerie for a while until someone, out of the blue, starts to talk excitingly, as high as a dog on a can of mushrooms, about seeing UFOs and extraterrestrials, not for long as the track fades out suddenly. I think the CIA showed up and cut off the power. Over and out, end of story, back to boring Earth.

Have a bite and tell me
what YOU experienced…

NOW PLAYING! New Spine-Tingling EP By Magnificent Voice And Songwriter OLLIE TREVERS – Listen Here To ‘CORDELIA’…

28 November 2019

Artist: OLLIE TREVERS

Who: A London based singer-songwriter, who studied at Leeds College Of
Music and ICMP. He was in several bands before deciding to become a solo
artist. He started writing and performing music from fourteen years old and
cannot remember a time when he didn’t want to be an artist.

New Release: 5-track EP titled ‘CORDELIA‘,
it’s his second EP and came out on 15 November.

Sound: Ollie Trevers is blessed with a phenomenal voice and a tremendous skill
for writing captivating and spine-tingling songs with a wayward, unconventional
and venturesome touch as the late great songwriters Jeff Buckley and Elliot Smith
did so touchingly brilliant. His new second EP ‘Cordelia‘ features songs about all
things human. About personal observations, heartache, solitude, worthlessness,
catharsis and emotional claustrophobia. The way he performs each and every
song is most gripping and absorbing. Pure heart and soul bewitchment.

Here are his wholehearted meditations…

British Rip-Roaring Rockers PRYSM Electrify With New Rowdy Smack ‘TURN IT UP’

Daily fuel to load your sonic batteries…

27 November 2019

Last August North Of England steamrollers called PRYSM released one of the most thundery crackers of the year with the multi-layered, tumultuous stunner ‘Destiny’.
But they still have some inflammable fuel left in the tank before 2019 expires.

The band just dropped fresh crushing cut ‘TURN IT UP’. It starts with a throbbing drums/bass beat, but soon razor-sharp vocals and a wall-of-howling-guitars kick in.
From there on it’s full force ahead like an uncontrollable tsunami of high-voltage electricity, like a sonic whirlwind, like an illegal decibels abuse. Oh yes, indeed,
rock ‘n’ roll can make you lose control!

Tune in and turn up the heat…

‘Dry Your Eyes’ By THE STREETS – 2004…

Knockouts from the past…

27 November 2019

THE STREETS‘ mastermind MIKE SKINNER, born on 27 November 1978, celebrates his
41st birthday today. Although it’s a sad love ballad let’s toast with ‘DRY YOUR EYES‘, as it was Skinner‘s greatest hit ever. NME called the track “a hairs-on-the-back-of-your-neck ballad for jilted lovers. Rarely has Skinner sounded so vulnerable, poignant and, well, normal.”
