With the ongoing corona pandemic, many artists stream music to entertain all of us
during these vital and massive quarantine days. Green Day‘s BILLIE JOE AMSTRONG
is one of them. He recorded a fitting version of sixties band Tommy James & the Shondells hit ‘I THINK WE’RE ALONE NOW’.
Amstrong said: ““While we’ve all been in quarantine I’ve been reflecting on the things that matter the most in my life. Family, friends and of course music. I figure if we have to spend
this time in isolation at least we can be alone together.”
Who: “Thirteen years down the road, some minor tweaks to the name and lineup
and KING BULL is operating smoother than ever with its oldest member still less
than a quarter of a century old.”
Score: Wow! Hells Bells! Here’s a barbed banger, a crushing firecracker, a staggering sledgehammer. Expect octopus drumsImagine Green Day fronted by madman Iggy Pop playing Kick Out The Jams by MC5. An avalanche of smoking guitars, hammering drums and spitting vocals explode in your ears. Expect tons of decibels from start to finish. Hot stuff!
BLACK REBEL MOTORCYCLE CLUB
‘Whatever Happened To My Rock ‘N’ Roll (Punk Song) Pinkpop Festival Holland – 2002
I saw them for the very first time a couple of months before this festival, in a small club in Brussels. It was their first gig in Belgium. They nailed it big time and had a chat with some of us, at the bar, afterward, to find out if we liked it. THEY WERE BLOODY BRILLIANT!
‘Whatever happened…’ was the first single from their 2001 debut album…
A band’s press statement says: Thrashing it out on the dancefloor, ‘Suck This Tangerine’ deals with the difficulties of a society in never ending crisis (‘Funny Money’) to the highs and lows in relationships (‘He’s Who’, ‘Let You Go’) and there’s a guest appearance from ex-Kellie Julia Worley on ‘Close Talker’. Recorded at home in Buenos Aires, the chemistry of the duo’s formative years remains as does their febrile new wave post-punk sound soaked in fiery dance beats and dub-pop.
After their splendid 2016 album Friends And Lovers the dazzling Argentinian punky
pop duo LAS KELLIES return with their sixth longplayer. An overall dynamizing record
that combines trippy, infectious pop tunes with electrifying early 80s instrumentation. Throughout the rousing album the influence of experimental post-punk outfit Public Image Ltd‘s second album Metal Box is obvious. Especially Jah Wobble‘s pumping bass and Keith Levene’s stunning metallic guitar play. And it works brilliantly. You will also
hear echoes of Gang Of Four‘s staccato funk. Welcome back Las Kellies!
Watch a young, crazed PATTI SMITH and her band playing a steamy version of ‘ROCK ‘N ROLL NIGGER’, including a raw Jimi Hendrix guitar solo byLenny Kaye in Germany 1979.

And here’s lead-single ‘THE BUZZ’. A mid-tempo vintage The Pretenders
