TELE NOVELLA is a musing pop duo – Natalie Ribbons and
Jason Chronis – from Lockhart, Texas, a small town, lost in time.

Their new album MERLYNN BELLE lands in early February.

“A homespun, creative bricolage that pulls from influences as diverse
as cowboy troubadours and folk baroque to tell stories that are at once
cinematic and deeply personal,” says record label Kill Rock Stars.

clip for the fourth track, they shared off the album.

Pick: VILLAINS! – new single from the upcoming
album Do It With A Smile out in March.

Score: An ominous bass riff pushes this hammer blow until hell breaks loose
after 70 seconds with exorcizing loudmouth Kathryn Edwards screaming your
ears to pieces. Her lung capacity is beyond normal. I have no idea what she’s
yelling about, but it’s definitely not a love song. Given this bomb’s title, I’m glad
for being a good boy, not a villain. Rage against the machine!

Indie Mavericks FIELD MUSIC Share Sparkling Single From New LP

Indie mavericks FIELD MUSIC from Sunderland, UK started their musical
journey back in 2004 and scored seven longplayers so far. And number
eight is coming sometime this year.

Ahead of it comes sparkling lead-single ORION FROM THE STREET.

“I wrote it in a daze. It’s full of accidental quotes and allusions — the first couple of lines I overheard in a Cary Grant documentary but they sum up the whole song — how intense impressions of love, hate, grief and guilt can be an almost hallucinatory experience” says
the band’s David Brewis.

Orion From The Street spins on and on, with fizzing synths and a steadfast bass beat triggering one of your feet’s up and down movement. Add floating, harmonious vocals
and you have a chirpy pop doozy to wake up to in the morning.

When WIDOWSPEAK Covers DIRE STRAITS You Get Magic

Last August Brooklyn‘s daydreamers WIDOWSPEAK – singer Molly Hamilton and guitarist Robert Earl Thomas – released their highly acclaimed fifth LP Plum with a 4/5 review from AllMusic writing: “Plum finds them at their most immediate and compelling.”

And they start 2021 with a new 5-track EP, planned to go online on 22th January. Honeychurch, like the 17th-century tile on its cover, is a nod to E.M. Forster’s A Room
With A View and was originally a working title for Plum.

One of the tracks is a Dire Straits cover of their 40-year old song (released as a single
on 9 Jan 1981 – from the band’s third LP Making Movies) Romeo and Juliet . Thomas’ glimmering guitar glow and Hamilton’s sensuous voice make it sound as if they wrote
the humdinger themselves. Magic, just magic!

ska heroes MADNESS was born on 13 January 1961 in Hastings, Sussex, UK.
