We All Breathe The Same Air – AFTER THE SEASON With Major Electroscape ‘WHEN WE WERE FREE’

25 January 2021

AFTER THE SEASON is a synth-wave project from Split, Croatia
that started in the middle of 2019. The debut EP is waiting in
the pipeline now.

One of the tracks is WHEN WE WERE FREE.

“A journey to the time when we were free and happy, and also
a warning that we are all responsible for ourselves and for the
times that are coming.”

It’s a cinematic synth symphony combining echoes of Europe’s
Final Countdown
anthem and VangelisChariots Of Fire atmospherics,
but also including two fragments of John F. Kennedy (1917 – 1963)
speeches. The peace-seeking, charismatic, best-ever USA president,
killed by his own country. We need the hope he spread, again

Made To Love Magic – Dublin Singer/Songwriter A. SMYTH Enchants With New Single ‘WHEN IT CALLS’

Reveries for the laziest day of the week…

24th January 2021

A. SMITH is an up and coming singer/songwriter from Dublin. He mixes the bucolic dreaminess of Nick Drake with the folk-rock of Elliott Smith, with driven verses and
hooky choruses. He releases his debut LP Last Animals on 19th February.

But first new single WHEN IT CALLS. A melancholic pearl about “trying to
use life experience to help the ones you love through difficult periods .”

This is starry-eyed music for the twilight hours. Meditative, brooding, and making
you hum along from start to finish. Midway, a weeping Neil Young guitar fragment electrifies the mood briefly before Smyth‘s voice takes over again with its calming
timbre. All you need to let your thoughts float around your head.

Made to love magic.

I feel the river in your heart
I know the thunder cos I feel it too

Five Firecrackers To STAY ON TRACK IN THE WEEKEND!

23/25 January 2021

Turn Up The Volume likes the smell of rock ‘n’ roll in the weekend!
Here come 5 new firecrackers to bang-up your favorite 48 hours…

– Sweet Sin – (Lockdown Mix) by A SLICE OF LIFE (Belgium)
Sounds like Sisters of Mercy remixed by the Chemical Brothers. Get your disco ball out of
the closet, move your furniture & pretend you’re the star in Saturday Night Lockdown Fever.

– Song Of The Night Gator – SAFETY (Brooklyn, NY)
Razor-sharp-edged post-punk indie raging full steam ahead pushed by a drummer on
a droning mission. Only 1.45 minutes, but enough time to blow up your speakers. From the Brooklyn trio’s upcoming 6-track Greetings from the Sunshine State, out 19th March.

.
– A HERO’S DEATH – FONTAINES D.C. remixed by SOULWAX
Irish rockers Fontaines D.C. sounding vibey and funky? Absolutely. Well, after the Belgian dance brothers Dewaele aka Soulwax put their hands on the title track of the Irish band.

– Oh So Real – by HONEY LUNG (UK)
Grungy shoegaze roller coaster with a metallic resonance. Rowdy, turbulent, multi-layered but also pretty sticky when the chorus kicks in. Buzzing stroke to boost your adrenalin.

– Business Casual – TOMAHAWK feat. Mike Patton (USA)
The supergroup, led by Faith No More‘s loud mouth Mike Patton is back after nearly eight years. This fierce jackhammer is the first taster of new LP, titled Tonic Immobility, out in March.

Back To The Future With New Single ‘OUT WITH THE OLD’ By MONOWHALES

23 January 2021

Toronto‘s firework trio MONOWHALES will lighten up
the world with their new album Daytona Bleach in March.

Ahead of it comes the new single – the third off the LP – called OUT WITH OLD.

“An anthem for the disenfranchised, centering on the loss of innocence and entitlement
which we’ve all experienced over the past year. This song is the feeling of being made to
choose where there’s no choice at all, but taking a vicious grip on hope in spite of everything going on in our lives.”

Out With The Old is an inspirational wake-up call to get together, rock together, have
fun together, and most of all to live together. It’s the perfect peaceful dance riot tune
to celebrate a new year, a new start, and a new future. Utterly charismatic Amazon
Sally Shaar leads the troops with flaming flair, vivacious verve, and bodacious bravado.
Hail hail Monowhales!

Time to get up, stand up and fight for your right to unify again…
