Band: BEASTIE BOYS (NYC)
Active: 1978–2012. The BB called it a day when Adam MCA Yauch
passed away on 4 May 2012 from parotid cancer. He was only 47.

They were the first rap act ever to top the USA albums chart. It happened this
day in 1987 with their debut LP LICENSED TO ILL. The trio wanted the album to
be called ‘Don’t Be a Faggot‘, but their label Columbia Records refused to release it
under this title, arguing that it was homophobic.
