Stu Mackenzie (their multi-instrumentalist): “This recording session felt significant. Significant because it was the first time all six Gizzards had gotten together after an extraordinarily long time in lockdown,” the band’s Stu Mackenzie said in a statement, “Significant because it produced the longest studio recording we’ve ever released. Significant because (I think) it’s going to change the way we write and record music, at least for a while.
A turning point. A touchstone. I think we’re entering into our ‘jammy period’. It feels good.”

This is the follow-up to the 18-minute psych-o-tic jam The Tripping Tap shared
a couple of weeks ago. Here the Aussies take a breather and move to la-la land…

Demons Crushing Metal Madness – DEVIL MASTER With New Badass Smack ‘THE VIGOUR OF EVIL’

New striking strokes

30 March 2022

Band: DEVIL MASTER
Who: American black metal punk band
founded in 2015 in Philadelphia

New album: ECSTATIES OF NEVER ENDING NIGHT
The group’s 2nd LP after 2019 debut Satan Spits On Children Of Light
Out: 29 April 2022 – more info

“‘Ecstasies of Never Ending Night’ witnesses DEVIL MASTER at its core. Vocalist
‘Disembody Through Unparalleled Pleasure’ has assumed the role of bassist,
strengthening the songwriting alongside ‘Darkest Prince’ and founding member,
rhythm guitarist ‘Infernal Moonlight Apparition’. Fresh blood was required and
found in drummer/keyboardist ‘Festering Terror in Deepest Catacomb’
(a.k.a. Chris Ulsh of Power Trip and Iron Age).”

New single: THE VIGOUR OF EVIL
Second piece shared after lead cut Acid Black Mass

Imagine a superband fronted by Lemmy and with Slash on guitar.
Get the LOUD picture? Yes, flaming fireworks, riff extravaganza,
badass percussion and grim growls.

These mother-metal-fuckers kick you in the teeth from the very moment
they leave their cages in hell, and turn up the decibels to an illegal level.
Halle-bloody-lujah! Nasty attack, nasty speed, nasty smack.

Magnific Voice ANGEL OLSEN Announces New LP – Hear Epic Ballad ‘ALL THE GOOD TIMES’ Here

New striking strokes

30 March 2022

Artist: ANGEL OLSEN
(born Angelina Maria Carroll 35 years ago)
Who: Singer-songwriter from Chicago with a
golden voice, so far she made 5 studio albums
Active: Since 2009 / 6 studio LPs (new one included)

New Album: BIG TIME
Release: 3 June 2022 – more info here

“The album was written during the time Olsen was coming out as
queer, and having her first experience of queer love and heartbreak.
At the same time, she finally came out to her parents. “

Olsen: “Finally, at the ripe age of 34, I was free to be me.”

Lead single: ALL THE GOOD TIMES

It’s an epic ballad with a country feel. If this melancholic gem was written
in the 60s it would have been sung by Linda Rondstadt, Tammy Waynette
or Dolly Parton, anyway, by an angelic voice like Olsen‘s magnific one.

I can’t say that I’m sorry when I don’t feel so wrong anymore
I can’t tell you I’m tryin’ when there’s nothin’ left here to try for
And I don’t know how it happened
We’ve both abandon the reason we used to believe
Was it love that we shared
When we easily cared?
Now it’s impossible to conceive

Charlie Drinkwater (frontman) about the LP: “It’s a more ‘open’ set of songs,
both musically and in our themes; in the process of writing we found ourselves
talking about things other than anger or aggression. We wanted to discuss love,
loss and joy too. It’s a record about personal disintegration and destruction, but
also rebuilding again after this.”

New single: BURY ME IN MY SHOES
The second taster after One Easy Thing.

About the song : “‘Bury Me In My Shoes’ is a hangover of a song. Last year was about reminding ourselves to hang on to good things, to remember you can love and hate in
equal measure. That the answers are rarely found by looking backwards. ‘Bury Me’ was
written as a response to that general feeling of unease and creeping dread. A feeling
you get from bad news on no breakfast.”

An ominous emission with heavy bass rolls, chainsaw guitars,
anxious vocals, and a crashing finish. Creepy stuff.

TOYAH And FRIPP Cover WAR By EDWIN STARR

29 March 2022

TOYAH and partner ROBERT FRIPP (King Crimson) started
their weekly Sunday Lunch Sessions as a fun pastime while
being locked up in their kitchen due to that nasty virus,
about 2 years ago.

And their hilarious video performances on the 7th day
of the week are still going strong on YouTube.

This past Sunday they picked, for obvious reasons,
the timeless classic WAR by EDIWN STARR.

To hell with Putin…
