Ronald David Wood, better known in the rock and roll world as RONNIE WOOD,
was born in Hillingdon, London on 1 June 1947. Happy 75 to one of the most
respected and prolific guitar players in music history.
He started his career in 1964 with English R & B band The Birds (1964-1966),
then switched to The Jeff Beck Group for 2 years, and 2 albums (as bass player).
Thereafter he joined the Faces after Steve Marriott left (then named ‘Small Faces‘),
made 4 LPs with the Rod Stewart fronted lads, before joining The Rolling Stones
in 1975.
He’s now gearing up with Jagger and Keef to go on tour to celebrate their
60th birthday. In between making 11 albums with The Stones, he found
time for 7 solo longlayers.
To celebrate Wood’s 75th birthday I woke up with a classic cracker
called Stay With Me, co-written with Rod The Mod for the Faces in 1971.
Stay with me, stay with me
For tonight you’d better stay with me, oh yeah
Stay with me, stay with me
For tonight you’d better stay with me
