THE DOORS – Previously Unreleased Track ‘PARIS BLUE’ Features On New Same Titled Compilation Out On Black Friday

On Black Friday – 25 November – a new blues-themed compilation
of eternal rock Gods THE DOORS will be released featuring a previously
unreleased/unheard track (a studio outtake) called PARIS BLUE.

The compilation is named after the Paris Blue song
and comes out on Record Store Day’s Black Friday.

Paris Blue will be available as a limited edition of 10,000 numbered copies
on translucent blue vinyl at select independent music stores on 25 November
for $24.98. The LP’s cover art is an original painting by guitarist Robby Krieger and
the set also includes liner notes by blues scholar Mary Katherine Aldin.

The band’s deep love for the blues shines throughout the new compilation.

Other highlights include two previously unreleased live recordings of Jim Morrison
and Krieger performing as a duo at a benefit on May 31, 1969 in West Hollywood. The
first one is “I Will Never Be Untrue,” originally written for 1970’s Morrison Hotel but didn’t make the LP in the end. The other is a cover of Robert Johnson’s “Me And The Devil Blues.” ).

The collection also includes a pair of outtakes recorded during the band’s sessions for 1969’s The Soft Parade “(You Need Meat) Don’t Go No Further” and “I’m Your Doctor.” Both feature Manzarek on vocals backed by Krieger and drummer John Densmore.
