Waking Up With… FALL OUT BOY Turning Up The Heat On The Telly
Daily noise that works faster than any stimulant
The Illinois emo rock veterans FALL OUT BOY (2001–2009, 2013–present)
launched their 9th lonplayer So Much (For) Stardust last week.
So, it’s promo time. Last Sunday they performed a couple of
songs off the album on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
One of them was their newest single single HOLD ME LIKE A GRUDGE.
I’m not really a FOB fan but this is a funky cool motherrocker.
Let’s roll.
THE SMASHING PUMPKINS Share Synths Infused Ripper ‘SPELLBINDNG’ From Act III Of Their Rock Opera
New striking strokes
28 March 2023
THE SMASHING PUMPKINS will complete their three-part
rock opera ATUM with Act III, out on 5 May.
You can stream ACT I & II right here.
Along with the news comes the first piece off Act III. SPELLBINDING
is a robust rocker infused with radiant synths, exploding now and then
into a ripper on its steaming chorus and ending with a dreamy fade out.
No bombast this time, only ebullient energy. One of the
best Pumpkins tracks I heard so far from this project.
Homerun.
Check it out.

Burlesque Pinup BABY DAISY Seduces With Rockabilly Pop Gem ‘SMITTEN SEX KITTEN’
Daily electricity to load your batteries
28 March 2023
Artist: BABY DAISY
Who: Drop-dead gorgeous
performer from Manchester.
“She’s the city cowgirl with a country heart. Critically acclaimed burlesque performer
and award winning pinup girl. Don’t be fooled by her sweet looks, this sweetheart is
a badass rock and roller, with a naughty little devil, living on her cowgirl shoulder.
A gritty rockabilly blues singer with unapologetic subjects and taboo themes.”
New single: SMITTEN SEX KITTEN
“The song tells the story of how the pinup bad gal, Baby Daisy
meets her new beau and falls head over heels smitten.”
TUTV: Baby Daisy looks lik a cross between Marylin Monroe, Nancy Sinatra, and Debbie Harry. Yes, dangerously sexy and she sounds like that too. Smitten Sex Kitten is a tantalizing pop tune, electrified with vibrant rockabilly-resonating guitar fuzz, a dynamic drum/bass tandem, 60s organ glow, and, of course with pussycat Daisy‘s sensuous vocals spicing it
all up.
Get up, stand up, and fight for your right to look glamourus
and shake your booty along with this she-devil baby.

Energizing Canadian Rocker GRANT BOYER Arouses With His New Five-Star EP ‘ALARM BELLS’
Standout extended plays
28 March 2023
Artist: GRANT BOYER
Who: Ardent Canadian singer-songwriter and founding member of Canadian rock group Golden Gate Graves, operating here with Troy Ranville (bass player/recording engineer), Braeden Kozy (producer).
New EP: ALARM BELLS
Boyer: “The original plan was to go into the studio and record just one song: “De-Evolution.” After hearing a rough mix, the floodgates opened and I started writing. I had a great time making Alarm Bells, including the lead single “Alarm Bells (Never Drinking Again)” which charted on Canada’s Active Rock Radio. It was a lot of late nights and hard work, but it was a ton of fun. It also inspired a barrage of songs still to come. I hope you enjoy it all.”
TUTV: This 6-track EP is a mood-changing and hellacious work of music. It starts with
two heavy riff-riveting rockers (Alarm Bells / De-Evolution) with volcanic grooves and aflame guitars. Afterward the decibels go down a bit and the mood turns reflective with the mighty belter As We Wait, the affectional ballad Charlie with beautiful piano play, and
the two firm mixed-emotions musings Enough and In The Meantime.
First-rate songwriting with the monumental vox of Boyer as the loud
and proud star in the middle. A five-star achievement. Don’t miss it.
Watch the videos for Alarm Bells (Never Drinking Again) and De-Evolution.

First releases
28 March 2023
ANDREJA RODIĆ is a Serbian artist. He’s the guitarist of Belgrade’s noise band Kalibar.
He just released his solo debut single, entitled VIVID DREAM. An intriguing instrumental piece that made an impact on Turn Up The Volume‘s ears. It’s an inventive mix of shoegazy guitar layers, space rock and lots of percussion with a weird fade-out sequence starting somewhere in the middle. Peculiar stuff.
Press play.
Get puzzled.
