Happy 80 To JONI MITCHELL

7 November 2023

Canadian-American folk/singer-songwriter legend JONI MITCHELL was
born named Roberta Joan Anderson on 7 November 1943 in Alberta, Canada.
When she moved to the US she acquired the American nationality.

Happy 80 to a truly remarkable and influential artist from the 1960s folk music
scene. She incorporated pop and jazz elements in her work and was known for her wayward and outspoken lyrics and singular voice. She won 10 Grammy Awards and
was internationally lauded and still widely respected as a genuine performer. She
was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

She recorded/released 19 studio LPs with her fourth one BLUE from 1977 still
regarded as her magnum opus. She wrote the album just after her breakup with
Graham Nash and during an intense relationship with James Taylor.

AllMusic/Jason Ankeny: “The quintessential confessional singer/songwriter
album. Raw nerves, tales of love and loss etched with stunning complexity.”
