NICK CAVE Announced New Bad Seeds Album In 2024 – Hear New Sensitive Song ‘TO BE FOUND’

16 December 2023

NICK CAVE announced the release of a new Bad Seeds album, yet untitled,
for 2024 (no exact date yet) via his Red Hand Files canal/column on his
website.

The making of was a rough ride.

Cave started to write from 1 Jan 2023 on. But
after a couple of days, he already got in trouble.

“It’s the same with every record, I feel that familiar feeling of lack, like I’m a big, dumb blank thing in a suit. I’m grumpy as fuck… anything that resembles a creative impulse is bur rowed way down in some mossy, froggy hole, asleep, I hope, not dead. I have to call it forth, provoke
it from its slumber.”

He added some lyrics he’d painfully composed: “The frogs in
the gutter are jumping for God/Amazed of love, amazed of pain.”

Around May/June he found his muse again.

“The songs are sounding great. I won’t really know until I get the Bad Seeds into
the studio and we actually make the album. But it is feeling very good, very positive.”

He told Rolling Stone: “There’s a lot of energy in the new record, but it’s not done as
a rock’n’roll group. We’re just looking at different ways to get to the emotional core of
what I’m trying to write about.”

In an interview with The New Yorker he talked about working with Radiohead‘s
Jonny Greenwood (who already played some gigs with Cave): “Maybe Colin will come
in and play something. He has a completely different style from (regular Bad Seeds bassist) Martyn. Marty’s a jaw-dropping powerhouse who holds everything together. Colin tends to
be more fluid and melodic.”

Cave played a new song last month in Chicago, named TO BE FOUND.
