Daily electricity that works faster than any stimulant
4 January 2024
Band: EEVIE AND THE LOCATIONS
Who: Brooklyn outfit fronted by Queer punk artist Eevie Echoes whose music combines aspects of riot grrrl, ska, grunge and a touch of early 2000’s pop punk. At the heart of her songs is unfiltered vulnerability as Eevie discusses everything from breakups and politics to transitioning, manipulative people, and struggles with mental health in her music. One of Eevie’s biggest hopes of her music is that her visibility as a trans woman of color will spark a conversation regarding transmisogyny and the unrealistic scrutiny that transfeminine individuals face.
New single: BRAINDEAD ft. crystal cartridge
The 3rd shared cut from new album The Guns Of Being A Wallflower
that arrives on January 10th. Pre-order info here.
Eevie: “Braindead talks about the feeling of dissociation and the uncomfortable
not quite human feeling that I can get when I’m experiencing really bad anxiety.”-
TUTV: I suppose many among us are braindead now, following too much New Year boozing. But as the saying goes, you need to fight evil with evil. Enter Eevie Echoes
and the Locations.
Their new effervescent corker is what you need to shake off your nasty hangover.
The snappy combination of dance-infused dynamics, sky-crazy rhythms, reggae vibes,
afire guitars and vivacious vocals works on the spot as long as you’re not falling over
your own feet while trying to catch up with the fervent fervor at work here.
