PINK FLOYD Drummer NICK MASON And His Band SAUCERFUL SECRETS Back On Tour In The UK/Europe
21 February 2024
Devoted PINK FLOYD fans were delighted when the former, original drummer
NICK MASON, aged 80 (!) now, decided 6 years ago to come back and play again.
Mason: “Six years ago when I got behind the drums again and we started playing
the early Pink Floyd material, it was a real pleasure on so many levels. Many of the
tracks had never actually been played live, so to have performed them all over the world
has been something we’ve all enjoyed immensely. To get the opportunity to come back to
the UK for another tour is something the band and I had been hoping we would be able
to do, so to say ‘we’re back’ feels good!”
He formed a band with singer Gary Kemp (former Spandau Ballet frontman), guitarist
Lee Harris (from the late Ian Dury‘s band the Blockheads), Guy Pratt (bassist and former
Pink Floyd collaborator) and Dom Beken (keyboardist with British ambient duo The Orb)
and went on the road in Europe and America in 2018 and 2019. In September 2021, they recorded a live album at London‘s legendary venue the Roundhouse, followed by
another tour.
And Mason has no intention to go back to his lazy couch, despite his age. He’s one of
those veteran rock musicians who want to go on as long as possible, because music streams through their veins, it’s their life.
These are the new tour dates for the UK and Europe.
