New striking strokes
6 April 2024
MICHAEL HUTCHENCE, the flamboyant and charismatic frontman
of Australian rock legends INXS took his own life in 1997, aged 37.
Two years after his death his only solo LP was released.
It was co-produced by Hutchence, Gang Of Four’s Andy Gill (who passed
away in 2020 due to Covid-19), and producer and former Black Grape
member Danny Saber.
Two previously unreleased tracks from the album’s recording
sessions will be put on 10″ next month thanks to Saber.
Saber in an interview with Brooklyn Vegan: “One of the fundamental reasons for releasing this music is to give the fans the opportunity to hear Michael’s voice on something new and fresh offering a glimpse into what might have been, and, in turn, reawakening millions of people who may have simply forgotten about him.”
One of the two songs is a pumping rock banger titled ONE WAY. Hear it here.
