Back in time

50 years ago, on 24 May 1974, the late glamorous genius DAVID BOWIE
released his 8th LP DIAMOND DOGS. The fans loved it (it went to #1 in the UK),
but the press was divided about the record.
To TUTV‘s ears it’s – taking his sublime oeuvre in consideration – a 6.5/10 LP, but
still better than many other artists’ so-called masterpieces (is it obvious that I’m
a big Thin White Duke fan?).
Diamond Dogs, Sweet Thing, Rock ‘n’ Roll With Me, 1984 are solid-gold pieces and
there’s of course the album’s 5-star glam rock classic Rebel Rebel. It still sounds
as tantalizing and drop-dead gorgeous after all these years.
