CHRISTINE McVIE was born Christine Perfect in Greenodd, Lancashire, England
on 12 July 1943. Happy 81 to a most emotive and wonderful voice/songstress.
The first big-name band Christine Perfect played in was Chicken Shack (from 1967-1969).
She sang their 1969 hit I’d Rather Go Blind. A cover of a song that was written by Ellington Jordan, Billy Foster, and legendary soul/blues voice Etta James who performed it.
She married Fleetwood Mac bassist John McVie in 1969 and joined the band which became world-famous after Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham joined in 1975 and released one of the best-known and successful albums of all time with 1977 million-seller Rumours.
Christine died in 2022, aged 79, following a brief illness.
