All female US garage rockers THE DARTS are one of the most energetic, exciting,
pizzazy bands around since they dropped their self-titled debut LP back in 2017.
Oh, and they’re also four drop-dead gorgeous Amazons.
On stage, the daredevils display a let’s-fucking-party-tonight ambiance, turning
clubs into sweaty saunas. Last Friday in Brussels the black-dressed ladies played
their 100th gig of the year in support of their new fireworks album Boomerang.
A record stuffed with swirling boosters.
2024 single ‘Pour Another’
As usual voice/face, Nicole Laurenne is the flamboyant attraction. She acts like
a human grasshopper, jumping in all directions, left and right, forth and back, while
hitting her inseparable organ. She’s backed by a stoked artillery pushing the decibels
to almost illegal levels.
Every time I saw the 4-piece gang at work, they impressed ears and eyes with
a non-stop razzmatazz. No brakes, no breaks, no mistakes. Who needs 3-hour concerts (hello, Bruuuuce) when you can get an audience to go bonkers in 45 minutes of rapid-fire rhapsody. Trust me, never a dull moment with The Darts. Hail hail!
