Band: SKLOSS
Who: Austin based duo that started their journey as a husband-and-wife duo between
American drummer/vocalist Karen Skloss and Scottish guitarist/vocalist Sandy Carson during the COVID lockdown. Surrounded by drums and amps and the need to play loud, the sonic sound of SKLOSS became a response to the crazy world just outside their window. Jams became songs, while the noise level, experimentation and distortion went up to a volume much louder than you’d expect from a duo.
“Living next to the woods has something to do with it. We started to use music
as an outlet, like most everyone during that time, we were so cooped up.”

TUTV: Expect the power-driven buzz and fuzz of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club mixed with
stoner rock dynamics, Black Sabbath-like drones and eerie voices out of the darkness. It feels like some kind of imminent danger is in the air on this never-ending, motorik roller roaster. I wonder how this duo, like the White Stripes did and the Black Keys do, produce more decibels than a full-on rock band.
