GETDOWN SERVICES is a wacky and ironic disco-rap-punk duo from Bristol, UK who made an instant impression in their home country with their invigorating 2023 debut LP Crisps
Last summer, they followed it with a rapturous 6-track EP, named Crumbs
Slowly but surely the madcap tandem’s tunes found their way into Europe‘s
indie scene.
For me the please-to-meet-you introduction happened when I heard their newest
single Dog Dribble, last November. A superbly funky booster that ended-up on TUTV’s
best-tracks-of-2024 list with this accolade.
“Getdown Services operate somewhere between Yard Act and Sleaford Mods.
Its limbs-activating groove is simply irresistible. Get up, stand up, and fight
for your right to bounce up and down like mad.”
Last Wednesday they landed in Brugge (Belgium) for a super-duper 75 minutes party.
They mix dry humour with crazy post-Brex-shit stories and wrap them in shake and
bake grooves your body simply can’t resist.
In between they talk all sorts of hilarious nonsense to the amused audience like stand-up comedians do and they come up with ridiculous dance moves on the almost empty stage.
Only one guitar, one computer and two comic babblers with a sharp ear and nose
for what get-together entertainment should sound and look like, is what you need
to have a exultant night out on a cold winter day. Great service, guys. Thanks a bunch.
