OASIS Released Psychedelic 4th Album ‘STANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF GIANTS’ 25 Years Ago

Manchester‘s legendary dropouts OASIS released their 4th album
STANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF GIANTS on 28 February 2000,
today 25 years ago.

An underrated album in my opinion. Tracks such as Fuckin’ in the Bushes, Go Let It Out,
Who Feels Love?, Were Did It All Go Wrong?, Sunday Morning Call’
and Roll It Over. Sure,
there are a couple of stinkers too. But overall it’s a notable Oasis record.

The album marked a significant change from the Britpop scene to a modern psychedelic record complete with drum loops, samples, electric sitar, Mellotron, synthesisers and backward guitars, resulting in an album more experimental.

It is the 16th-fastest-selling album in UK chart history, selling over 310,000 copies
in its first week. The LP has been certified double and has sold around 208,000
copies in the US.
