Band: WORLDCUB
Who: A group from North Wales piloted by brothers Cynyr (guitar & vocals) and
Dion Hamer (drums & vocals). They produce material from their home studio on
the hills of Eryri, splicing together elements of surf guitar music, kraut-rock grooves
and hypnotic psych tinged vocal harmonies. Last year their released new album
Back To The Begining.
“The track was inspired by a rehearsal we had, Cynyr explored a few riffs with a more fuzzy sound. The lyrics flowed from what was on the news that night, on the TV and on social media especially, the relentless tension that comes from having all of that in your pocket all the time and how some people can eventually become desensitised to it, which inspired the paradoxical nature of the track.”

a magnetizing, bouncy bass riff, a non-stop, repetitive and footstomping drum beat and moody vocals, that bring former Super Furry Animals‘ frontman Gruff Rhys‘ smooth voice tone to mind. Bullseye. The track spins on repeat in my head now, and will do so in yours. Guaranteed!
