THE HORRORS Take You On A Mood Swings Roller Coaster With New Album ‘NIGHT LIFE’

27 March 2025

Band: THE HORRORS
Who: Psychedelic synth-dark-wave dropouts from
London
. They will celebrate their 20th birthday
as a band next year (hard to believe).

New album: NIGHT LIFE
Their 1st in 7 years
and 6th overall.

New album artwork

Press info: Whilst the end results have changed, however, at their core has always
been the same unbending commitment and bloody-minded allegiance to the cause.

The Horrors are not and will never be a band that approach the job lightly. They’re musicians who’ll funnel everything they are into the process, at the expense of health, wealth and sometimes sanity. And so, whilst sixth album Night Life sees the band once more shapeshift into a new form, with a new sonic outlook and – this time – a new
line-up, in some ways The Horrors are still as they ever were.

NME‘s verdict: “Viewing their discography today, it’s as though The Horrors arrived
in the early hours, pushed on through the brightening stages of the day, through the
vibrant glory of the early evening and have now returned to the depths of the darkest
night. It feels like this is where they belong.”

TUTV: Their second, 2009 album Primary Colors is my favorite Horrors LP
in my book and in many others’ too. This new one will not change that fact.

Night Life is, sonically, an unbalanced affair. The band alternate soft, musing pieces with industrial outbursts. From dreamland to our messed-up times. It takes the rhythm out of the record way too much. On the other hand, you won’t find a bad track, and Silent Sister, Trial By Fire, and More Than Life are the stand-out ones.

New UNCUT Issue With Cover Stars THE SMALL FACES

27 March 2025

This month’s UNCUT issue shines the spotlight on British
mod-pop-rock legends SMALL FACES (1965–1969, 1975–1978).

1968 was a year of extremes for the band, from hit singles
and a career-defining album Odgen’s Nut Gone Flake to
a final, on-stage bust-up.

But while the bonds between them were strained by internal tensions
and external dramas, the music Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagen
and Kenney Jones made in their final months together pointed tantalizingly
in bold, new directions.

Also features on Lou Reed, Bootsy Collins, Radiohead, Suzanne
Vega, Belly
, David Johanson, new album reviews, and much more.

This month’s Free CD is exclusive Small Faces one
with alternative mixes, raritie,s and live cuts.

You can purchase a copy and have it sent to your home. Info HERE.

PUNCHBAG – London’s Siblings Already An EBM Sensation After Just Two Singles

Daily electricity to load your batteries.

27 March 2025

Band: PUNCHBAG
Who: A new electrifying brother-sister duo, from South London colliding the raw unfiltered energy of punk, with the overflowing ecstasy of pop. With fierce tempos and ferocious energy, their music is an explosively cathartic release of raw intensity and unapologetic fun.

New Single: I’M NOT YOUR PUNCHBAG
From their upcoming debut EP. Details TBA.
It was written before they came up with their
moniker Punchbag.

Only the siblings’ 2nd track, following debut one
Fuck It that made TUTV go bonkers.

“The song comes from a ‘harmless’ small remark made to me at a dinner table
once that really cut deep. From this small seed, if you like, the song grew into a
kind of anthem for fighting back — a refusal to let people dump their shit on you.”

TUTV: Ecstasy. Elation. Euphoria. Exhilaration. Yes, this electro-smack makes
you bounce and jump like a pogo-stick. Two singles in and Punchbag are already
a punky EBM sensation. They kick you in the teeth without asking while having
fervent fun. Amazeballs.

REAL FARMER – Dutch Indie Tornado Twist Your Head With Speedy Anti-War Missile ‘BIG STEPPER’

Daily noise that works faster than a stream of caffeine

27 March 2025

Band: REAL FARMER
Who: Outspoken Dutch rebels, inspired by heartaches and lonesome travels.
They released their debut album Compare What’s There last year.

Single: BIG STEPPER
Piece from their upcoming
EP RF II, out on May 2.

Real Farmer: “We live in a time when the number of countries in conflict is the highest since WWII. Big Stepper is about the global rise of the far-right and with it the dangers of extremism and patriotism. It’s about how young men and women are being seduced by their governments to join the army, convinced that this will help them combat their feelings of hopelessness and enhance their chances for a better future, but often it has the opposite effect, leaving them traumatised and forlorn.”

Single artwork

TUTV: In 1969 Edwin Star shouted from the top of his lungs: “War, what is it good for? Absolutely Nothing. Unfortunately, as long as power-greedy world leaders rule, wars
will be fought. These belligerent days are another loud and clear example of the devastating nature of schizophrenic politicians. And it’s not over yet, far from it.

We need artists/bands like Real Farmer to write songs about the ongoing madness. You never know if somebody will listen someday. Enter Big Stepper. A shattering Krautrock-like missile with a sonic force, loud and aggressive enough to deafen egomaniacal cruel psychos like Trump, Putin and Netanyahu.

Real Farmer rotate non-stop, on and on, just as the late great Alan Vega loved to freak
out back then, and British mavericks such as Deathletter and The Murder Capital love to
do today. No rest for the wicked, no mercy for fascists, no licence to kill… for nobody.

The accompanying video features striking images that depict the
steady dehumanisation of military recruits and the horrors of war.

GARBAGE – New Album And New Northern American Tour

26 March 2025

Press photo

After more than 30 years indie rock celebs GARBAGE still operate with their original
line-up of vocalist Shirley Manson, bassist Duke Erikson, guitarist Steve Marker and drummer Butch Vig (for those who didn’t know, Vig produced Nirvana‘s masterpiece LP Nevermind).

They’ll unleash a new LP, their 8th one, baptized LET ALL THAT WE
IMAGINE BE THE LIGHT
on 30th May. Pre-order info here. No singles
so far.

Manson: “Going into making this record, I was determined to find a more hopeful, uplifting world to immerse myself in. The title of the album, Let All That We Imagine Be the Light, is the perfect descriptor for this new record as a whole. When things feel dark it feels imperative to seek out forces that are light, positive and beautiful in the world. It almost feels like a matter
of life and death. A strategy for survival.”

This Summer/Fall they will promote it on the road in Northern
America
. The tour is billed ‘Happy Endings’. Endings??
