British supergroup MANTRA OF THE COSMOS featuring happy mondays Shaun Ryder
and Bez, Andy Bell (Ride/Oasis) and drummer Zak Starkey, Ringo‘s son, who played with Oasis and The Who among others and who actually came up with this project’s idea two years ago, described it as “a fantastic psychedelic groove from a band of misfits, outsiders
and innovators.”
Sounds like a 24-hour party for young-and-old-timers!

Bell: “It’s a pleasure to be part of Mantra of the Cosmos.
Four like-minded souls who get off on the same music.”

Ryder: “It doesn’t sound like the Mondays or Black Grape
or Oasis or The Who, it’s what we’re doing all together.”

To walk it like they talk it, they dropped two tracks. The wham-bam disco-punk
stomper Gorilla Guerilla and the moody groover X (Wot You Sayin’). Afterward everybody got back to their day jobs… until now.

With DOMINO BONES (GETS AROUND) they strike hard again. It’s a bedlam banger featuring Noel Gallagher saying: “It’s Dylan, Dali, Ginsberg and a bit of cosmic jibber-jabber. Add in Bez, who dances on the tunes like Zak plays the drums and Andy Bell plays all things stringed, and you have it.”

The madly mantra at work here is quite invigorating. Blimey, what a belter! We want more!
