Musically, the album has been described as featuring alternative rock, Grunge, alt metal, art rock and heavy metal. Its sprawling nature resulted in diverse music styles from song to song, contrasting what some critics felt was the “one dimensional flavor” of the previous two albums.
The artwork was conceived by American illustrator and collage artist John Craig.
He worked from Corgan‘s scribbled notes and crude sketches, most of which
arrived via fax.
As teased yesterday rock heavyweights FOO FIGHTERS have a new single out, named ASKING FOR A FRIEND. Along with it comes the news of a series of stadium concerts
for 2026 along with their mates Queens Of The Stone Age.

New single following their
self-titled roasting debut EP.
Y: ‘Skipper’ was an obvious choice for our next single, as we’ve always had a strong
reaction from audiences, when playing it live. With this track we wanted to push the
sound we’ve become known for, restless and relentless. Lyrically the track ‘Skipper’
addresses class divide and hierarchy in which the rich skip through a world they feel
they own.
It is written like an acid trip, full of word play. Sonically, ‘Skipper’ aggresses against the outdated; It takes influences from the best of the past, whilst being firmly set in the now
but with an eye on the future.”
TUTV: Y drag you into their whirling frenzy from the kick-off. Skipper gets in your
face, fast and furious, actually the way I like it a lot. This badass belter is motorized
by a schizophrenic saxophonist and the vocalist’s spit and sneer vocality. Another
post-Brexshit-punk hype? You’d better believe it. Don’t miss them.

British rock prodigies ARCTIC MONKEYS started their career in style when they hit
the top spot on the UK Singles Charts 20 years ago today ( yes, time is merciless), on
23 October 2005 with their debutI BET YOU LOOK GOOD ON THE DANCEFLOOR
from their first album Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not.
That was long before frontman/songwriter/guitarist Alex Turner came up with his posh Elvis persona.
The song’s line “Your name isn’t Rio, but I don’t care for sand” is a reference
to Duran Duran‘s hit ‘Rio’, the song also has references to Romeo and Juliet.
The girl on the single’s cover is named Jessie May Cuffe. She was discovered at a bar
by a Liverpool design company. Cuffe, 16 years old at the time, was chosen for the shoot, which took place at a SPAR retail store star shop in Liverpool. She wore a fake uniform, being mistaken for a store worker by customers.
NICK CAVE and his BAD SEEDS released their top-drawer 18th LP WILD GOD in August 2024. Then they hit the road to promote it.
But they’re not yet done.

And today the band announced a live LP. It’s named LIVE GOD.
It’s a testament to The Wild God Tour, which wowed
audiences across the UK, Europe and North America.
The tracklist includes performances of the entirety of that first-class album,
as well as versions of catalogue favourites, such as ‘From Her To Eternity’,
‘Papa Won’t Leave You, Henry’ and ‘Into My Arms’.
