Who: Wayward London-based indie collective conducted by
Saul Adamczewski, also the musical architect of notorious
misfits Fat White Family.
They released their splendacious self-titled debut LP in 2018.
Followed by their sophomore one, A Man For All Seasons.

TUTV: The ghost of early Velvet Underground wanders all over this slo-mo jam. Gloomily orchestrated and ominously progressing, with Adamczewski‘s obscure vocals augmenting the sinister sonority of this truly notable piece of music.

Who: Arresting alt indie
5-piece from Liverpool.
Gigi (vocalist/lyricist): “It was written out of frustration, with the name itself implying
the initiation of a war, which feels like an absolute necessity for me when I feel like I’m
being forced to stew in stagnant air.
For me, that’s what going home feels like. I needed to write a song that was as heavy as that stagnant air, so I could make sure it didn’t stick to me. Whatever I have to say in the song is entirely backed by the weight of the music which, to me, justifies the feeling. It’s got to be ok cause it’s now alive and forever in what you can hear.”
TUTV: I guess these chaotic and troubled times we live in influence the creation of paranoid nightmares like this one. Sisters take you on a doom-and-gloom roller coaster with Gigi‘s twilight whispers accentuating the ill-boding tone of this enigmatic journey.

crammed into the space of a two-and-a-half-minute pop song, a loose tale full of finger-pointing and playful tangents and obscure patho. To me it’s a song of empathy, about
how hard it is to find your place in the world.”

Poppy timbre, swift pace, jangly guitars and
acute vocals. A winner.

Who: Australian cult musician.

SP: “As society has abandoned mythologies, we must create our own. We’re not existentialists.
In any case, we also live in a completely schizophrenic society in this sense, so the idea to create a story of a war hero/criminal undergoing an absurdist spiritual transformation seemed almost obligatory. “
TUTV: I must say that a song about a dead war criminal from World War I wandering in Australian deserts isn’t quite a common thing. But that’s what Spike Fuck‘s mind comes up with. Sonically, All By Myself is a foot-stomping power-pop anthem with a febrile chorus. Not really a war soundtrack. I wonder what happened to that guy.

Who: Prolific German dark-Goth-shoegaze-wave
musician from Berlin. He has numerous albums
on his résumé.
Track: ATEMDAUER
His newest single.
Vlimmer: “Atemdauer” may sound dark, harsh and dystopian on the surface, but at its heart it’s a song about acceptance. About holding on to your own identity in a world that constantly encourages comparison, self-doubt and the feeling of not measuring up. Building a fortress within yourself while everything around you tries to tear it down.”
TUTV: If German disco punk legends D.A.F. (Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft) and electronic underground pioneers Die Krupps would have written a song together, I think
it would sound like this. Hyperkinetic, frantic and chilling. Best listened to in a dark place.
