To Hell With Blue Mondays – From Chicago… Rowdy Rockers INDOORSMEN

To hell with Blue Mondays…

8 March 2021

Damn, another bloody Blue Monday.

Remedy? Chicago’s rowdy rockers INDOORSMEN.

Why? Because this steamy hot rod gang just entered the hard-hitting rumble & roll scene with two razorblade-cutting singles. Two nasty slam dunks à la Micheal Jordan. First, they cause a PANIC ATTACK, a crazy-riff ripper about the struggle of fighting with anxiety and daily life as a cog in the machine. Thereafter, your head will spin 360° with the sickly sticky stonker BE LIKE THIS dealing with the feelings of self-consciousness that we all deal with.

Now evacuate your living room and kick this Blue Monday in its ass…

To Hell With Blue Mondays… Here’s Bulldozer STRUGGLES WITH SYNTAX

Noisy jams to kick Blue Mondays in the face…

25 January 2021

In all the time Turn Up The Volume features the weekly ‘To Hell With Blue Mondays’
this is, without a show of a doubt, the most fitting cannonball ever. Ever! Ever!

The guilty party? STRUGGLES WITH SYNTAX, noise adventurers from London.
The guilty bomb? The fourth and final track from their upcoming EP UK Garage
Floor Fillers Vol. 4
.

MONDAY BLUEZ is a tempestuous sledgehammer “that focuses on a low ebb and
a kind of desperate outpouring of fury – like screaming into the abyss with a few tins
of Special Brew in hand.”

A hardcore cannonball doing your poor post-weekend hangover-head in with
a hellish two-in-one explosion that’ll make your ears ring until next weekend.

And the clip made me LOL. Each member at home, doing… nothing really,
talking to each other with their mics off, pretending they know the lyrics and
having a smoke and a beer. Yes, looks exactly like a genuine Blue Monday.

Check it out, folks…

To Hell With Blue Mondays Here’s JOYSLAM With Some Steamy DRUM BEATS

23 November 2020

If Canada’s premiere Aboriginal Funk Rocker JOYSLAM
can’t get you through this Monday, nobody can.

He’s gearing up for his new album Spirit Star.

And here’s one of the uplifting tracks called DRUM BEATS. “Drums are the heartbeat of not just music, but of communications throughout history and in EVERY culture. These Drum Beats, especially in Aboriginal culture, are the means in which we “tell the stories of everything that we’ve heard or seen”.

A hip-shaking earworm that makes your whole body rotating crazily. Your eager limbs just can’t resist this tremendously funky Freak Le Chic stunner. Music heals, music uplifts, music exhilarates.

“MUSIC IS EVERYTHING !! IF YOU GET IT, NO EXPLANATION IS
NECESSARY, IF YOU DON’T, NO EXPLANATION WILL EVER DO !!”

Get up, stand up, and shake your booty…

To Hell With Blue Mondays Here’s DAVE GROHL And His FOO FIGHTERS

9 November 2020

Last Saturday, just a few hours after the election of Joe Biden, his supporter DAVE GROHL and FOO FIGHTERS premiered their brand new single SHAME SHAME on the famous Saturday Night Live TV show. Watch/listen here.

They also played a passionate and fired up version of one of their massive hits TIMES LIKE THESE. Their way to express their hope for a new, better future. Awesome song to start this new week.

It’s times like these you learn to live again
It’s times like these you give and give again
It’s times like these you learn to love again
It’s times like these time and time again

To Hell With Blue Monday Here’s Mean Riff Machine CUFFED UP

2 November 2020

(pic by Ana Karotkaya via Someone Great PR)

Los Angeles’ post-punk hit team CUFFED UP knocked heavily on the gates
of noise rock last year with double A-side single Mother + SmallTown Kid.

And like many other American musicians, they also shout and scream to encourage
the people to come out and vote. They do it with a fitting, sharp-knife-cutting cover of ‘POLITICIANS IN MY EYES’ by 70s proto-punk band Death. A track originally recorded
in 1975, but released in 2009.

“At the time it was released, ‘Politicians in my Eyes’ was a challenge to the government
in place who were sending young racially diverse kids into a war they never wanted. We
covered the song because it runs parallel with our disgust and mistrust of everything the
current government administration has done and stands for.
says the band.

Get ready for a rip-roaring wave of ravage riffs backed by a stormy beat,
a flaring male/female duet chorus, and an extended magnetizing guitar outro.

FUCKING #VOTE LIKE THE COUNTRY’S DEMOCRACY DEPENDS ON IT (WHICH IT DOES) is the band’s loud and clear message. Time to vote that hate-preaching Trump bully out!

Turn up the decibels…

The original protest song…

To Hell With Blue Mondays Here’s JACK WHITE With An EDDIE VAN HALEN Guitar

Last Saturday bluesman-at-heart played JACK WHITE
on American TV show Saturday Night Live.

He performed a perfervid firework medley of ‘Ball and Biscuit’,
‘Don’t Hurt Yourself’, ‘Jesus Is Coming Soon’
and the title track of
his 2014 album Lazaretto which he performed with an Eddie Van
Halen
who passed away last Tuesday, only 65.

Jack White said: “I thought it could be a nice gesture for me to use this blue
Eddie Van Halen model guitar that was designed by Eddie. He was very kind to me
and saw to it that this guitar was made for me to my specs. I won’t even insult the
man’s talent by trying to play one of his songs tonight. Thanks again Eddie for
this guitar and rest in peace sir.”

Hit it, Jack

To Hell With Blue Mondays – Fasten Your Seatbelt For Symphonic Metal Orchestra PYJAMA PLANET

Rowdy rippers to kick Mondays in the face to…

5 October 2020

MARK PYJAMA is a Cape Town based centipede who’s mixing and producing music for artists, video games, and films. He develops audio plugins and writes his own breed of heavy metal.

With his PYJAMA PLANET project he just unleashed a new king-sized instrumental piece called THE PRELUDE (feat. Kris Xenopoulos from Vulvodunia). It’s the first single from his upcoming album MADJENTA.

Mark states that “This song has been 3 years in the making. It was a journey. The song developed as I did as a person over these years, and it was my rock when I needed creative escapism!”

After a short, frolicsome classical music intro with strings and piano all hell breaks loose. Layers of rollicking guitars and slam-bang drums flood you like a tsunami at supersonic speed with a gigantic resonance. Mind you, it’s not about making just noise.

Definitely not, Pyjama Planet sounds like a symphonic orchestra – a blasting one – with classical structures and violins and piano sequences popping up now and then. It’s prog-rock metal with euphonious textures and Mark Pyjama as composer and conductor.
