Band: THALADELA Who: Young Scottish indies from Glasgow. Their sound blends distorted and
dreamy elements, drawing influence from Wolf Alice, Radiohead and Slowdive.
The song explores the complicated relationship we have with modern media
and how overconsumption affects our daily lives. The lyrics reflect the bittersweet
nature, the verse discussing how it feels in the moment while the choruses
consider it’s overall impact.
TUTV: This starry-eyed, shoegazy, and passional pondering is arranged with
bewitching vocals, and absorbing orchestration. Think Cocteau Twins‘s crystalline scintillation. Thaladela create an instantly absorbing reverberation.

these debuting Scots do spot-on. For once social media overload led to something
valuable like this beauty.
Hip-rap-hop crusaders Beastie Boys became an instant sensation when they
released their soon 40-year (15 November 1986) old debut LP Licensed To III
featuring their hysterical haymaker Fight For Your Right.
In 2012, the band was no more after the untimely death
of co-vocalist and bassist Adam MCA Yauch due to cancer.
Now 14 years later, co-vocalist/songwriter MIKE D (né Michael Louis Diamond,
60 years ago in NYC) offers his debut single, titled SWITCH UP.
It’s an old skool breakbeat rap, quite heavy, power-driven by muscled bass vivacity.
Who: The musical project of siblings Natassa Zoë (actor, musician, and writer),
who lives between Australia and the UK, and Danny Pugh, based in Bristol.
They craft a sonic tapestry that fuses melodic indie pop, art pop, and
dynamic synth pop.
Natassa: “Suki is about embracing the light and dark in yourself and finding love that holds through the chaos.Our moniker nods to Desperately Seeking Susan (note: 1985 movie starring Madonna) and mirrors how the project began. My brother and I sending ideas back and forth between the UK and Australia. ‘Suki’ also relates to love, and the idea of searching for love in some form felt like something most people could relate to.”

TUTV: Scintillating synths design an orchestral canvas for Zoë‘s part-spoken/part-sung poetic reflections on mixed emotions on this melodramatic pop roller coaster, while bass/drums punchiness bolsters the effervescent chorus that arouses a vitality we all
need in life to survive, especially in these uncertain times.
On different levels, a magnific debut and the accompanying
witty video will put a big smile on your face.
Laurie Vincent: “I missed my partner’s birthday and my son’s birthday when
I was in America. I’m no good at numbers and I tend to miss those details when
we’ve got a big touring operation and things are booked a year in advance. Those
birthdays I missed will be remembered forever, whereas I can’t even remember
those gigs that I played.”
TUTV: Vincent‘s alter-ego, compared to the barbed wire turmoil
of Softplay is significant. Dreamy vs nasty, romantic vs detached,

Central Reservation Blue is a rollicking outing, most surprising because
of Vincent‘s straightforward, captivating voice, which we haven’t heard,
except for some backing barking, until now.
Artist: LENNY LENNY Who: Belgian singer-songwriter, half of celebrated
electro-punk duo Compact Disk Dummies.
LL: “The project is very personal and close to my skin. But I still see Lenny Lenny as an
alter ego that dares just a bit more than I do. An amplification of my style, my influences,
my stories. ‘Regular’ Lenny creates it, Lenny Lenny dares to project and push the pedal to
the metal.”
It’s about feeling so overwhelmed by someone who steps into your life, the other
person almost becomes intangible. Like a feverish tambourine that shakes you to
the core.
TUTV: Sonically as well as vocally, Lenny Lenny operates in a place where Steely Dan
and Prince used to play around. I know big-name comparisons. But that’s what my experienced ears tell me.
Scintillating synths, funky groovin’, soulful vivacity, high-pitchhed
vocals and fizzing catchiness combine for a royal gem of a debut.
TUTV: A storm of riff-roasting garage rock electricity, reminding me of the early
bustling days of The Strokes with flurries of jangly guitars, drum/bass panache,
gutsy vocals, and an overall punk-inspired sharpness.
All starting groups should be as exciting as these determined pubescents.

Band: PUNCHBAG Who: A new electrifying brother-sister duo from South London
colliding the raw unfiltered energy of punk, with the overflowing
ecstasy of pop.
TUTV: If you start your musical escapade with this kind of steaming synth-pop
stormer it won’t take long before you will be the new talk of the town. Punchbag
go nuts on their first left/right uppercut, motorized by a hepped-up electro engine.
And invite you to do same and pirouette yourself dizzy.
TUTV: Blimey. A sonic brick wall of ablaze guitars, assisted by tenacious drumming
and rollin’ bass lines, dominate this spectacular debut score. There’s threatening
tension throughout.
Think Killing Joke having one of their freaky nightmares. Hazy vocals float around,
injecting this jagged jam with a ghostly vibe. These juvenile gunslingers shoot sharply
from the hip. Astounding.
Band: THE SOVEREIGNS Who: 4 indies out of Hull, UK. They want to embrace musical communities,
feeling strongly that music should never be a privilege, and believe in giving
back to grassroots venues, pedalling the importance of grassroots music and
its often-fragile infrastructure.
A song about feelings of self-doubt, gut instinct and
observations, all personified in a ‘relationship’ context.
TUTV: And a one, and a one-two-three-four, here we go. From the kick-off
jangly guitars hijack this full of vim and vigour stroke, juiced with a bass and
guitar solo, a resolute drummer and itching vocals.
Pure indie electricity, inspired by 60s punk-beat bands.
Do you wanna The Sovereigns? I’m sure you wanna.
TUTV:Gasmm hit the bullseye right away with their high-powered, rollercoaster debut. From the get-go hungry guitars, set the blazing tone. Decibels fly around the room while the singer fills the black holes in the sky with his hell-bent vocality, including a couple of creepy growls and the towering chorus puts a big cherry on their first cake.
Gallagher: “It’s just all heavy guitars. That’s my favourite tone of any song: just really chuggy chords and really fucking distorted. All my favourite songs are like that – very punk rock. It’s just an aggressive song. I want it to sound like having a freakout. The lyrics are anxious as fuck.”

TUTV: I don’t know if Gene‘s dad is a grunge fan (as if Gene would care, he’s a damn Gallagher). Hinge echoes early Nirvana (debut album ‘Bleach‘). It has a raw and rough
indie edge. It’s cool that Gene doesn’t copy/paste Oasis. Villanelle are mad for it.
Band: ANOTHER DAY Who: Fresh 4-piece guitar-driven indie rock band from Tunbridge Wells, Kent
who made name for themselves by playing tons of exciting gigs across the UK.
The song originated from a serendipitous comment by a man named Frank,
who suggested the phrase “Doghouse Roses” as an alternative band name. With
no intention of changing the band’s solidified name, the phrase inspired the song’s
hooky chorus. It’s built around the bittersweet emotions of a friend’s breakup.

Who: A new collaborative project from John J Presley, Ben Hillier and Danielle Perry.
A musical collective drawn from mutual inspirations and a desire to create freely
and quickly with musicians on the same page.
Together, it’s a tapestry of sonics, from crunching guitars to sweeping orchestration,
death march brass to motorik drum machines, vocal interplay, and post-rock build-ups.
Presley: ‘I wrote the lyrics for ‘Flowers’ after seeing a friend in the street who had just parted ways with his partner. Moments later, I saw the ex-girlfriend with her new man, looking very much in the throes of the early days of any new relationship. “
TUTV: Creepy. Confronting. Chilling. These are the keywords for this shocking piece of intimidating Lynch-esque music. Cold-hearted spoken-word vocals add to the sinister resonance of the track. Think of the darkest moments of Dirty Three. This eruptive mindfucker will haunt you. Watch your back.
Verstegen: “The inspiration for this track came when I was looking at a box of matches
and suddenly realized that every romantic “match” is actually a bit like a real matchstick.
You only get one chance to make it ignite. Some go out quickly, others need a bit of oxygen
and sometimes you can spark a fire that will keep you warm for the rest of your life.
TUTV: Matches feels like a sonic match right away. It’s a heart-and-soul touching
reflection with a feverish drive. Near-whispering vocals and enthralling harmonies
star up front, causing goosebumps. Think Bon Iver, Ed Harcourt, and other transfixing voices.
Verstegen sounds like he’s been around for a long time.
His engrossing storytelling and evocative singing are a
revelation.

TUTV: I’m pretty sure Simon and Garfunkel would like this endearing, heartrending and sepia-coloured musing. This is the kind of soulful lullaby, where acoustic ambiance and vocal healing fit each other like a glove, that connects reality and fantasy, facts and wishes.

who is embarking on a solo project and redefining the boundaries
of his songwriting with this digital glitchy folk project.

TUTV: Feverish passion, liberating catharsis and intense sadness led to this towering guitar-infused belter. The 2nd Of July is an overwhelming wall-of-sound outburst to help process an awful loss. Losing your mother causes indelible heartache, unfortunately, familiar to many among us.
We all now that music can be a healing force, which we experience here once again. Vocalist/songwriter Bart Smet also seems to look for pain-relieving solace through this soul-stirring, sonic cry-out. His sky-scraping vocality causes goosebumps. The overall fervency of this debut is sterling, just sterling.

half of Brighton is in a band (I’ll add to the aforementioned groups: Lambrini Girls,
Ditz, The New Neves, Opus Kink, and way more). Two: MM hit bullseye with their
chirpy debut single.
Its lazy indie pop vibes stick on the spot. Feathers is a tremendously catchy
feel-good lullaby, juiced with sparkling guitar solos, a bouncy drum/bass tandem,
and happy-go-lucky duet vocals upfront.
You can listen to it in your bed, on your couch, at work while sleeping and in other related situations. Light-hearted tunes like this set your stream of disturbing thoughts on a hold for 3 and a half minutes. Put it on repeat and dream on.
