a 2024 wasteland where surreality becomes reality. OM-G, this is a formidable jam.

Who: 4 indie rockers out
of Leighton Buzzard, UK.

Single: THE TV’S SHOWING

Mark Harris (frontman): “Written from the perspective of someone longing for another
and the cruelty of this person not letting go, ‘The TV’s Snowing’ emulates how this person lives helplessly in limbo, with nights stretched further and afar. Our love of Bon Iver really influenced the atmosphere of the production, and it’s one of our proudest creations.”

TUTV: A perturbed reflection with Harris‘ anxious vocals lifting this impassioned
tragedy to a bone-chilling level. It’s a feverish tour de force that keeps on reverberating after its volcanic finale. Splendid.

Who: Singer-songwriter from Reykjavík (Finland) who opened up
with his band Fufanu, opened hometown shows for Radiohead and
Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Also supported Blur in Hyde Park, and playing
at big festivals.

His debut solo album ‘Kick The Ladder’ was released in 2021.
His second one ‘Lobster Coda’ will be launched on October 25th.

Single: WHITE BURN

TUTV: White Burn starts as a mellow candlelight meditation, dreamy and starry-eyed,
and evolves around the 2-minute mark into a soulful and touchy-feely pop symphony. Beautifully orchestrated and arranged with crystalline vocals on top of it.

Who: Canadian outfit. Their music is a blend of bittersweet nostalgia and
familiar yet elusive stories. Despite a loose and lo-fi aesthetic, their songs
are meticulously arranged, with action-packed tracks typically spanning
3-4 minutes.

David Suchon (songwriter): “Dream Machine is about connecting with things that are lost. In the case of my Dad, he’d always be able-bodied in his dreams despite have been paralyzed in a diving accident in 1982. This is the kind of boosting tunes I embrace on my headphones all day long.

Track: ELEKTRA

First piece from their upcoming new album, titled The Last Flight.
A concept one about aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart and her famous
round-the-world journey in 1937 that ended in her disappearance.

I wonder if Earhart would have liked the music of PSB. Anyway, Elektra
is an intoxicating, ongoing, symphonic sound-jam taking you sky-high.

Who: Musical project of singer-songwriter Drew Danburry
from Baltimore, Maryland. He has independently toured and
released records – 400 songs/20+ albums and 13 EPs (!!) – since
2002.

“It’s about ignorance and understanding. Understanding that your parents came from struggle, grief and tragedy. I grew up surrounded by paintings that my mother had made while attending an art therapy class after her third son died of cancer. She never painted again after the class was over. I grew up never knowing she had made them or why because I never saw her paint in my entire life.”

High Tide is a vocally/musically endearing and melancholic reflection about Danburry‘s parents’s grief after losing a son (and a brother to this songsmith). I guess words can’t express such a drama, but I hope the healing power of music/this song has a cathartic effect for the loved ones involved here and for all people who had to experience a
similar tragedy

It is a sweet little tune with a breezy, smooth vibe and warm horns.

Albini who passed away in May, only 61.

Who: Italian psych-rock project. The name is
a metaphor for the perversion of certain love
relationships.

Single: I SEW YOUR EYES SO YOU DON’T SEE ME HOW I EAT YOUR HEART
Title track from last year’s album, now coming back with a brand-new video.

The song tells the story of a love that has transformed into something visceral and completely deviant, culminating in cannibalism, with a strong desire to inflict as much harm as possible on the other person, even resorting to esoteric practices.

The accompanying clip features The Cosmic Gospel as the only protagonist, presented
as both a human and a reptile, echoing the album’s title from which the track is taken.

Adam Arnold (bassist): “I was listening to Spiderland by Slint on repeat at this point. I wanted to recreate that jarring juxtaposition of tempos and riffs that are synonymous with their sound. Obviously in a more commercial sense. At this point however James and Sam had a completely different direction in mind. Heavy Eyes was my attempt to change that. I’m sure they hated it at first and it took a lot of persuasion. But now it’s a cornerstone of our sound and a constant reference for me.”

TUTV: Heavy Eyes is a spine-chilling cry out, going forth and back, with
high-strung vocals and alarming guitars. Think The Murder Capital.

‘OMG’ is about living rent free in another person’s head. It’s about when someone’s hate
