Who: Indie rockers
from Lille, France.

Track: NO TIME
Highlight from their notable 6-song debut EP
Beyond The Waves. Stream here.

Spine-tingling score. One listen and you’re hooked. Take your time.

Band: VIRGIN BIRTH
Who: An industrial synth-punk duo based in Louisville, Kentucky. Both musicians
bring deep roots in punk and indie rock, having played in various bands over the
years.

Track: I CAN’T READ
New single from their full-length record titled Total Annihilation,
which is set to be released on May 4th via Never Nervous Records.

Lyrically, the song explores the frustration and confusion that comes with misinterpreting seemingly straightforward conversations, especially in digital communication like emails and text messages. It delves into the nuances of language, the gaps between intention and perception, and the subtle misunderstandings that can arise when tone and context are lost in written exchanges.

TUTV: This razor blade industrial shocker spikes your terrified head with
nine inch nails and attacks your ears with synth-injected-frenzy. Trust me, it’s
totally worth it.

Artist:
Who: Moniker for Danish EBM songstress
Karen Marie Aagaard Ørsted Andersen.

Track: KEEP MOVING
New single from her upcoming 4th LP,
called Plæygirl. Out on May 16.

: “It’s an ironic take on my endless to-do list. It’s about the feeling of unravelling under
the weight of everybody’s expectations, including my own, whilst also secretly dreaming of being set free from this constantly shifting, absolutely mental Western world. I have never enjoyed recording ad-libs as much as I did screaming “BUAH!” in the chorus – definitely my favourite ad-libs ever. The lyrics come from a place of real frustration, but writing and performing this one heals me too.”

TUTV: MØtastic move!

Band: PAYOLA
Who: London/ Essex based 5 piece formed at the start of 2024 united by a love for music and the desire to bring something fresh and exciting to the guitar driven new music scene.

Track: PULSE JET MAN

“The idea behind Pulse Jet Man is that it is the persona you take on when you want to be something that you don’t think you can be. It’s the person you want to see looking back
in the mirror, not what the actual reflection portrays. Be that a hero, a thief, a heartbreaker
or an astronaut. Everyone has a bit of pulse jet in them. C’mon, c’mon.”

Press info: ‘Pulse Jet Man’ from the very start is full of thrashing, pounding drums and distorted, fuzzing, snarling guitars. It’s a frenzy of electrifying sound that doesn’t let up throughout. There’s a certain urgency contained in the melody, the chorus hooks are anthemic and just as unrelenting. It’s a raw and powerful track befitting of a true rock
and roll.

TUTV: This riff-ripper goes fast-forward from the get-go. No brakes, no breaks,
no mistakes. Hungry guitars, perturbed vocals and a cutting chorus combine for
a crackerjack discharge.

Press play.

Band: THE SPORKS
Who: Fresh indies from Wales who are here to feed you their own blend of retro rock originals. Out of the mouths of babes, they have laid the foundations of a freshly interpreted sound to inspire their creations.

Track: STATE OF YOU
Their 2nd single.

Press info: With the raw grit of The Black Keys, punch of Supergrass, and a touch of Hendrix swagger, this track grabs you from the first bar and doesn’t let go with its driving grooves, infectious hooks and lyrically mature mix of admiration and frustration.

TUTV: Barbed wire 60s garage blues rock from the basement. Raw and rough.

Artist: PATRICK WOLF
Who: Expressive English singer-songwriter
from South London.

Track: LIMBO
Piece from his upcoming, 7th album,
called Crying The Neck. Out June 13th.

The song features wonderful American songstress Zola Jesus.

Wolf: “I have adored Zola’s work since her first ‘Stridulum’ album and we have been pen friends since 2011. As I finished writing the song here by the quiet of the sea and seeing pictures of her own wilderness of woodland where she lives now in Wisconsin, I felt we were aligned somewhat in spirit at this point of our work. It was only her voice I imagined to duet with me and now I can’t imagine anyone else riding shotgun beside me on this our summer gothic road trip of a song.”

Entrancingly vocal, and melodic grandeur.

Artists: CUTTY
Who: Indie rock-pop
tandem from Hull, UK.

Track: AIN’T TALKIN

The song explores the feeling of detachment and defiance against meaningless chatter.
It’s a self-reflective track about choosing silence over the noise around us, embarking
on a journey to discover true connections while piecing together our own truths.

Top-tier rock ‘n’ rolling stomper, funky as hell and groovin’ and movin’ with
gutsy gusto and vivid verve and fueled with an unexpected transition to
a break-beat finale.

Striking stroke.

Artist: BEN KEY
Who: Singer-songwriter blending groove-heavy rhythms, soulful vocals, and ambient synths, bridging vintage grit with modern electronic textures. Debuting singer-songwriter from Toronto, Ontario. He was co-founder of Canadian band New West.

Track: JAMES DEAN
Solo debut.

“I wanted the song to carry that same sense of passion, defiance, and nostalgia, like
a scene straight out of an old movie where love is reckless, raw, and all-consuming.”

A tireless drum beat throbs non-stop and motorizes this sonic upper all the way through. The iconic rebel without a cause James Dean inspired Key for this rousing rocker. Infectious, resolute, irrepressible and juiced with perfervid vocals.

Band: PREOCCUPATIONS
Who: Canadian post-punk outfit from Calgary, Alberta.
They formed in 2012 under the name Viet Cong, a name
they dropped in 2016 following lots of criticism related
to the Vietnam War.

Track: BASTARDS
New single from their upcoming 5th LP,
titled III At Ease. Out on May 9th.

Never heard Preoccupations this synth-poppy
and it works 100%. Kicky knockout.

Band: THE GODS THEY MADE
Who: Indie rockers from Geneva, Switzerland.
They released their debut album Breathe In
last year.

Track: ANYTHING YOU WANT

“A haunting exploration of identity and authenticity, beyond the masks we wear
in daily life. The song carves out its own space as a standout indie alt-rock track
with subtle pop accents.”

Riveting from the get-go. Indie guitar-pop opulence for your eager ears spiced with
peachy and crystalline, harmonious vocals, sparkling guitar play and a splendiferous chorus. Stellar stuff.

Band: CROWD OF CHAIRS
Who: Belgian noise generators, who have released, so far,
two albums on their résumé. Fuck Fuck Fuck (2019) and
Mod Kid With Dog (2020)

Track: SUDDEN ADVICE
First taster from their upcoming
3rd album Breather, out on April 21.

TUTV: It seems like COC and Welsh turbulent post-punk legends McClusky
made a deal to come back at the same time, just because you can produce
more noizzz with two tumultuous bands than one.

Sudden Advice is a destructive, guitar-psychotic haymaker pushed by
a maniacal drummer and combative bassist and an in-your-face vocalist.

Hells bells!

Band: SLIGHTEST CLUE
Who: Canadian outfit who combine post-punk, garage rock, and
dark pop into a patchwork quilt of genres, creating something
fresh within the alt-rock landscape.

New track: CAR CRASH DIALECT

Mac (guitarist/vocalist): “You can stay in things for too long if it’s what
you think you deserve. This song is about overcoming that passivity taking
back control and knowing your own worth.”

TUTV: Knock-down and drag-out turmoil comes from the front and the back, from left and right. This guitar-frenzied uppercut smashes you to the wall and there’s no escape exit. You’d better do not play this head-twisting thwack in your car in order to avoid that you lose control and crash.

Band: LIFE COACH
Who: 4 dazzling Scottish indies.

Track: CRINGE
The first single taken from the upcoming second album,
named ‘A Love Letter To Your Yearning Heart’ which comes
out on May 30th.

TUTV: The alternating dreamy female and sinewy male vocals create
an intriguing contrast and give this speedy, puissant stroke a kinetic
twist.

Dashing energy that makes your finger reach for the repeat button.
Top stuff! Just added Cringe to TUTV’s best tracks-of-the-month list.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Artist: TY SEGALL
Who: The 24/7 music
fanatic from L.A.

Track: FANTASTIC TOMB
First shared piece from his upcoming 16th solo album (he also made
countless collaborative records), called Possesion. It comes our way
on 30th May.

New album artwork

“It’s a story-song. Desperate for something he can hold onto, our hero takes a job hitting the house of “a man worth more than a country could make,” only to find the treasure hunt to be just another ride to nowhere. The song is a modern American noir-cum-classic rock hoedown, scored with Ty’s burnt-filament lead guitar and ingeniously sealed with Mikal Cronin’s saxophone section.”

TUTV: Again Segall displays his addictive love for 60s/70s psychedelic pop/rock.
Imagine the Grateful Dead fronted by Marc Bolan. Groovy, boogie, and brassy.

.
Instagram – Spotify

Artist: WILLEM JAMES CROWN
Who: Captivating Canadian songsmith
from Southern Ontario.

Track: JAM JAR

The song is inspired by a fight with his then-girlfriend. “Jam Jar” finds Cowan reflecting on a moment of fault while trying to understand things from the other person’s perspective. It’s narrative feels as personal as it does universal, touching on themes of vulnerability, guilt, and the struggle of owning up to one’s mistakes.

Cowan:We were out at a party, and I was at fault. While we were on our way home on the Toronto streetcar, I was trying to imagine things from her shoes—buried in a grave I designed,”

TUTV: Electric passion, country-folk rock echoes, and entrancing Canadana vocals are
the keywords here. Despite its mixed emotions content Jam Jar is a frisky and sprightly
tune that attracts your aural attention on the spot. High songwriting quality.

Band: KILLS BIRDS
Who: Kinetic indies
from Los Angeles.

Track: TRACE
Piece from their upcoming
EP ‘Crave‘, out on April 11th.

“And while relationships inevitably evolve, fade or even unravel, for us
the song represents the rapture and joy inherent in both love discovered
and love remembered.”

TUTV: A high-voltage charged post-Valentine burst of mawkishness.
An amplified spurt vitalized by about 100 guitars, agitated vocals and
robustious drumming. Exuberant missile. Ace.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Artists: THA FLICKER

Who: A duo with contrasting yet complementary artistic journeys. Giulia born in Sesto San Giovanni, infuses the project with her vibrant soul, creating intense melodies, profound lyrics, and a captivating voice. Marco born in Monza, brings an instinctive and meticulous approach to crafting their signature electronic sound.

Track: LAUGH
Second single following last year’s
excellent debut Faded Flowers.

The song is inspired by a true story. It tells the story of a woman who, after 30 years of domestic abuse, laughs at her husband’s funeral—not out of joy, but as an uncontrollable, cathartic release.

TUTV: Think Sharon Van Etten at her most heartfelt. Laugh is a purifying and soul-freeing rumination, invigorated with passional vocals, synth-shining orchestration and a steadfast drum beat. Magnific accomplishment.

.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Band: AUTOGRAMM (Seattle, Chicago and Vancouver)
Who: Synth-driven power-poppers from Seattle, Chicago
and Vancouver. So far they recorded/released 3 albums.

New track: RANDY

Being a self-described “cat band” they naturally – after some deliberation – decided
to re-record the vocals and dedicate the content of the lyrics to their drummer’s cat, Randy.

The Silo (drummer): “It’s a letter to a good friend, in need of a
little confidence push. Everyone needs an ego boost sometimes.
Even if they’re a cat.”

TUTV: Wham bam bloody wham bam. Autogramm take you on a spiralling ride
from the get-go powered with bang-on drumming, gung ho guitars, luminous
synths and speedy vocals. Look what the cat dragged in, folks.

Band: DREAMWAVE
Who: 4 indies from Bristol, UK.

New track: CLAD KINGS
Piece from their upcoming EP
‘Moon Dogs’, out April 25

It originated from a spontaneous five-minute jam between guitarist/vocalist Ben and drummer Alex, captured in a single take. What began as a simple idea soon evolved into a dense, immersive production, with the band layering what felt like thousands of overdubs. They made use of nearly every organ and guitar available in the studio, adding synths and countless harmonies before arriving at the final version.

TUTV: Clad Kings imposes with its multi guitar-synth accumulation. It feels like floating around in a hallucinative space. Psychedelic DIIV vibrations and idyllic Tame Impala vocality come to mind. Move into your unworldly bubble and enjoy.

Artist: PETE BRILEY
Who: English singer-songwriter.

Track: ALL MY FRIENDS ARE WASTERS

Musically, this track encapsulates the typical joy and experimentation within its composition – something for which, Pete is very much becoming renowned for.

All My Friends Are Wasters is an ode to the bohemian friends that would never
be understood by this stranger at the party. Someone who could never understand
the square pegs in round holes all trying to catch a wave – and that just makes Briley
love the people in his life all the more.

TUTV: Compelling, profound and transfixing reflection.
Subtly and emotively arranged with fetching piano play
and expressive vocals. Absorbing effort.

Band: SNOOZER
Who: Alt outfit from Philly formed by brothers Mike and
Tom Kelly from Philly. Last year they launched their 3rd LP
Mid-Earth

Track: I DON’T WANT TO TALK TO YOU

until aggressive guitars take over and get in your face. Then the mood
swings process starts all over again. Somebody is grumpy here.

Band: SPORTS TEAM
Who: London-based group,
active since 2016.

Track: MAYBE WHEN WE WERE 30
Single from their forthcoming 3rd LP

“One morning you look around, and all your friends are getting married, and you think,
maybe all I really want is to grow old, and get a dog, and write horrible things about Brooklyn Beckham on Facebook, and go on cruises, and have petty disputes with my neighbours about whether the council recycles cardboard.”

Gloriously affecting and steadily boogielicious
with musing duet vocals all over it until
sinewy guitars, slowly but surely, augment
the intensity of this witty mixed emotions
tune.

Artist: EVAN WILLIAMS
Who: British singer-songwriter-guitarist who’s
quite close with Albion heroes The Libertines.

Track: KINDRED SIN
From his upcoming debut full length
The View From Halfway Down, out
on 11th April. Order info here.

Williams: “Finishing uni, I was very lost with what I was doing. I had no stability. I was dreaming I’d found love, but in reality I was stagnating. The line “Fuck You For Looking” speaks of flare-ups I had then, where I imagined people looking down on me. These illusions I’ve found are symptomatic of the social pressure to be someone – and be someone quickly. It’s been quite freeing to understand that the negativity that I was imagining from others is no more real than the girl in my dreams.”

High-quality songwriting. Zestful and vehement.
Fuck you outpouring. Pent-up emotions.
Glorious voice. Top-notch chorus.

Band: KEYS
Who: Welsh indie
rock-pop team.

Track: WHAT FLAVOUR
The song takes inspiration from the raw, rhythmic urgency of ESG, Liquid Liquid,
and the early ’80s New York post-disco underground, channeling the energy of
99 Records into something distinctly their own.

Matthew Evans (frontman): “‘What Flavour?’ began with something my daughter said while staring at the endless choices at an ice cream stand on holiday in Tenby. We instinctively sang it back to her, and before long, it snowballed into a full-blown song. As it unfolds, the track grows more agitated, from playful indecision into the agony of craving what someone else has. We’d been deep into disco and 99 Records bands at the time, so everything came out upside down.
It doesn’t sound like anything we’ve done before, and that’s exactly why we love it.”

This electrical-charged corker captures your hungry ears faster than you can
say ‘this tastes excellent’. Dominant guitars, a pounding bass-drum collaboration, wondering vocals, 60s organ juice, and the pumping chorus combine for
a top-tier thrill.

Track: When Night Equals Day

From the upcoming LP ‘Everything Lasts Forever’
out via Old Habits Label on 21st March.

An unflinching song about relationships, capturing a sense of disbelief, when
a spark you saw in someone has long faded. The song is full of heart on your sleeve emotions and a wistful melancholy. It’s ultimately though, a song of strength and independence.

).

Condon: “Guericke’s unicorn is a supposed reconstruction of a fossil unicorn which was actually created from the bones of a bunch of different animals like the wooly mammoth
and a narwhal. It’s worth looking up the image. I’ve always been fascinated by these kinds of bizarre chapters and odd side notes of history, and I wanted to reflect the unorthodox, eccentric madness of that ‘unicorn’ in a more playful song that is somewhat disjointed from the rest
of the album.”

slash your shocked stereo speakers. Nasty vocals, psychotic guitars with a Slash-like solo burning holes in your ears. No rest for the wicked. Watch your back, Amyl & The Sniffers.

Track: TELL ME ALL YOUR SECRETS Pt. 2
Debut single from upcoming debut LP.

Matt Brannon (bandleader) It’s about that painful disconnection in a relationship—when someone is living a double life but refuses to admit it, even after it’s over. The song started with that personal story but grew into something much bigger, reflecting on the tension between authenticity and secrecy”.

TUTV: Get up, stand up and fight for your right to shake your booty.
Some Freak Le Chic riffs, echoes from New York City‘s indie legends
The Rapture and energetic vocals will trigger your craziest dance

Band: HEISA
Who: Belgian LOUD rock trio whose sound draws influences from bands such as
Black Midi, Tool, Battles and Swans, blending dissonance with a strong sense of identity. Their music balances chaos and control, mixing unsettling atmospheres with hypnotic rhythms and sharp distortion.

Track: FLOWERS
2nd single from the band’s third LP
‘TROIS’, landing on March 208th.

Heisa hit hard again. Flowers is a slow
progressing outburst of earsplitting noizz turmoil.
Schizophrenic guitars, bashing drums, and spooky
vocals conspire to mess up your head.

Band: SUNDAY JUNKIE
Who: Alt pop duo from Worchester, MA
who came together last year.

Track: HOLY, HOLY
Piece from their debut album,
due out sometime later this year.

Tom Martin (vocalist) : “I had issues with drinking in the past, and the lyrics on ‘Holy, Holy’ pretty heavily revolve around using alcohol as a means of self-medicating and ignoring a larger, underlying issue,” Martin adds. “It can be pretty insidious when it seems to provide relief, but the toll it’s taking is more evident to those around you and they just hope you can eventually see it too. The line ‘Honey on our tongues / Sucking on the rind’ is more of a reference to having everything at your fingertips, not realizing it, and choosing to throw it away instead.”

Fiery vocals.
Ablaze emotions.
Expressive electricity.
Amplified pop tune.

Band: SILK
Who: New project of guitarist/songwriter Michael Smyth
of Irish shoegazers Virgins who released their excellent
debut LP nothing hurt and anything was beautiful last
year.

Linktree

Track: FAZE
Debut single.

“Its pure shoegaze, molten guitars drenched in dreamy chorus and reverb, all whirring over impossibly dense fuzz, vocals buried in the mix serve as an additional instrument more than the message. Mimicking the minimal lyrics to the song, the sound of Silk
exists in the purgatory state of half awake-half dreaming.”

Lose yourself in this ocean of accumulating
guitars and its hallucinatory resonance.
