One Sonic Summer Booster A Day Keeps Insanity Away – Today: Disco-Rap-Punk Misfits GETDOWN SERVICES

8 August 2025

GETDOWN SERVICES is a wacky, snappy and catchy disco-rap-punk tandem from
Bristol, UK, who made a pronto impression in their home country with titillating
2023 debut LP Crisps.

Last year, they followed it with a rapturous 6-track EP, named Crumbs and
last June they launched another 6-track EP, called Primordial Slot Machine.

Slowly but surely, the madcap tandem’s tunes found their way into Europe‘s
indie scene too. They started touring the continent non-stop (as I witnessed myself
in Brugge, Belgium last January) and they’re still hanging around for a series of gigs.

Last June, they stopped for a short set at London‘s State51 Conspiracy studios,
the home of a multifaceted indie music company. Of course, they played their
biggest hit so far, DOG DRIBBLE (almost 4 million streams on Spotify).

If your limbs do not respond to this hyperkinetic dribble,
you need to change your meds or consult your shrink.

One Sonic Summer Booster A Day Keeps Insanity Away – Today: IGGY POP’s Unsatiable Lust For Life

2 August 2025

Back in 2016 the indestructible Godfather of punk IGGY POP (now aged 78) released
his 17th album, named Post Pop Depression, produced by Queens Of The Stone Age‘s mastermind Josh Homme, who also played on some tracks, something Dean Fertita (also from QOTSA) and Arctic Monkeys‘s drummer Matt Helders did too.

With those guys Pop performed on the British Later With Jools Holland show that year to promote the album. Besides a couple of new ones they also, of course, played this classic.

See you on Monday at Lokerse Feesten Belgium,
Mister Pop with some other punk oldtimers.

I’ve never been a follower of Norther Irish/Scottish rockers SNOW PATROL,
but just like half of this planet, I also know their giant 2006 hit Chasing Cars.

Scrolling around on YouTube to find fitting stuff for these ‘Summer Of 2025‘ series,

One Sonic Summer Booster A Day Keeps Insanity Away – Today: NILE & RODGERS CHIC And A Full Dancing Security Team

16 July 2025

Band: NILE RODGERS & CHIC
Track: LE FREAK

One of those memorable tunes that still resonates loud and proud (more than
222 million streams on Spotify) years after it was released. The single came out
in 1978 and topped the charts in the US, Canada and New Zealand and went
top-10 everywhere else.

Nile Rogers, 72 now, keeps on touring and touring and playing that
dance classic. This is how it sounded at the Isle Of Wight Festival last
June.

Shake your booty along with the cool security team. Glorious!
