Last year Dublin gunslingers FONTAINES D.C. confirmed their huge potential with sophomore album A HERO’S DEATH. And America knows it too. The Irishmen made
their TV debut on The Tonight Show playing the LP’s title track.
Irish indie rock bohemians FONTAINES D.C. just released their second ‘difficult’ longplayer. A DEATH’S HERO is a stellar piece of work about the grim times we
live in seen through the eyes of young artists trying to make sense of all of it.

The band talked with online music magazine Stereogum about every single track on their
new chilling masterpiece. Read it all here.

up for world domination. Album: A HERO’S DEATH – the band’s second LP Released: 31 July 2020

NME‘s verdict: “Usually, when a band follows up their lauded, hype-building
debut album in lightning-fast time, they do so to capitalise on the buzz and double
down on any early promise. Fontaines D.C.‘s second album, the tense, often morose
‘A Hero’s Death’, feels like the antithesis of this approach… It finds the band investigating
their meteoric rise and the punishing, never-ending tour that followed, sifting through
the fragmented pieces that remain.’ Full review here. Score: 4/5

FONTAINES D.C., one the most exciting bands of the moment are on their way to follow their five-star 2019 debut LP Dogrel with another supreme longplayer. A HERO’S DEATH will see the day of light on 31 July. So far they gave us two startling cuts with the thundery title track and moody meditationI Don’t Belong.
And the third track is another remarkable ripper. TELEVISED MIND is a rollicking Krautrock-like jam getting under your skin slowly but surely while frontman Grian
Chatten‘s parlando vocals rattle on and on and on. Bull’s eye, again!
After their impressive 2019 debut LP Irish rockers FONTAINES D.C. already launch a new
full length (eat your heart out, Radiohead) entitled A HERO’S DEATH at the end of July. Last month they unleashed the first single, the stormy title track.
And here’s a second piece called I DON’T BELONG. The opening track of the longplayer.
A lost in thoughts meditation about being an outsider with reflective vocals by charismatic frontman Grian Chatten
With last’s year rousing debut albumDrogelIrish firm post-punk rockers FONTAINES D.C. hit the scene with a big bang. One of the best 2019 longplayers on Turn Up The Volume‘s list.
Their follow-up LP ‘A HERO’S DEATH‘ is already waiting in the pipeline, out 31st July.
And here’s the first single and title track. It could have been a highlight on Drogel with its pumped-up pace, frontman Grian Chatten rattling non-stop rant while the band produces an adrenalin beat that grows in tension along its thundery way.
It’s a heated ripper of hope and having faith in the future

mass / Tell your mother that you love her/ And go out of your way for others.”
