BLONDIE Drummer CLEM BURKE Passed Away At 70

Sad news just came in.

Blondie drummer CLEM BURKE has passed away, aged 70, due to cancer.

He joined the band shortly after Debbie Harry and Chris Stein formed the group
and played with Blondie throughout his entire career. He appeared on all the band’s
LPs. He also played drums for the Ramones for a brief time in 1987, under the name
Elvis Ramone.

was the theme song to the 1980 movie American Gigolo with Richard Gere.

The single topped the Billboard Hot 100 Chart for six consecutive weeks and became the best selling single of the year in the US. It also was a Number One in the UK and Canada.
