The legendary ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL had its very first
edition in 1970, billed as a counterculture event. Over the
years, big names and new ones played the British island.

This year, one of the star acts was BLONDIE, fronted by DEBBIE HARRY.
One of the greatest frontwomen ever of one of the greatest pop groups
ever.

At 78, she’s still the visual attraction and the middle.
That’s what charisma is about. And she stills has fun
on stage.

BLONDIE released the irresistibly
catchy single DREAMING back in 1979,

It was the opener of their 4th LP Eat To The Beat. It was written
by Chris Stein and Debbie Harry, partially inspired by ABBA’s 1976
monster hit Dancing Queen.

Great voice, great songwriter, and ultimate pin-up rock star.

DEBBIE And BLONDIE And CHIC Star NILE RODGERS Caused ‘RAPTURE’ At COACHELLA FEST

At 77 DEBBIE HARRY and BLONDIE are still playing around the globe.

They performed last weekend at Coachella Festival in Indio, California.
Chic maestro NILE RODGERS joined the iconic band on stage for their 1981
hit RAPTURE and it was him who stole the show with his rapturous guitar
play, quite superb even.

Pop titans BLONDIE had their first run from 1974 to 1982. They reunited
in 1997 and scored a blockbuster hit with the effervescent tune MARIA
2 years later (more than 90 million streams on Spotify). It featured on their
7th LP No Exit.

Maria was No.1 on the UK singles chart this day in 1999.
Their sixth #1, 20 years after their first with Heart of Glass.
