Ohio‘s rackety rockers CLOUD NOTHINGS launch their
8th album, named FINAL SUMMER on 19 April.

Press info: “Over the past 15 years Cloud Nothings have become part of the fabric of modern indie rock with a steady run of reliably fantastic records, and this streak continues unabated with Final Summer – an album that’s so assured, so instantly satisfying, that it forces you to pause and realize you’re listening to one of the great American rock bands

They just dropped (already) the 4th single of the
forthcoming LP. A vigorous groover, named SILENCE

Dylan Baldi: “I wrote this song after reading that Samuel Alito’s Roe v. Wade opinion tried to justify banning abortion with quotes from a guy who literally burned women at the stake for being ‘witches’ in the 1600s. Like, how stupid do you have to be to think that a guy like that has said anything worth listening to at all? It’s wild that you can be a Supreme Court justice and also be an idiot. So I made ‘Silence’ about how sometimes you feel powerless watching bad people run the world, but that hopefully in the end you can find a way to live by decent values in whatever place you’re in.”

Dylan Baldi: “I got pretty obsessed with the band Earth during the pandemic, and that
led to an obsession with other doom metal, and then I started buying lots of fuzz pedals and downloading distortion plugins online — basically just anything that would blow out my guitar sound and get it sounding somewhere in the deep and fuzzed out ballpark of the heavy music I was listening to. ‘I’d Get Along’ is sort of a Cloud Nothings take on that sound, where the guitar is big and bulky but there’s a really poppy vocal melody on top, and the drums are bouncy and rolling around the other instruments in their own idiosyncratic way.”

Waking Up With The New High-Velocity Single ‘FINAL SUMMER’ By CLOUD NOTHINGS

In 2021 the Ohio rockers had their 7th album, named The Shadow I Remember out.

And they’re back now with a new track called FINAL SUMMER.

Dylan Baldi (frontman): “Final Summer” is about reconciling past versions of myself with
the self I see when I look in the mirror every morning, always trying to learn more and using that knowledge to take the leaps of faith that are necessary to try new things and continue living and growing. Cloud Nothings has been around for 14 years now, and we wouldn’t have been able to power through the many ups and downs of those years without taking the chorus of “Final Summer” to heart: I have some thoughts, I have some dreams, but I need to be happy with what I’ve got for me.”

Expect high-velocity stuff.

singer-songwriter Dylan Baldi, fooling
around with poppy edges.

Album: THE SHADOW I REMEMBER – 8th LP

Out: 26 February 2021 – details here.

Info: The songs are kept trim, mostly around the three-minute mark,
while being gleefully overstuffed. Almost every musical part turns into
at least two parts, with guitar and drums opening up and the bass
switching gears. “That’s the goal—I want the three-minute song to be
an epic,” Baldi says. “That’s the short version of the long-ass jam.”

Canadian indie guitar rock junks CLOUD NOTHINGS have a new album, already their 8th, waiting to be released in February next year. The title is THE SHADOW I REMEMBER and is produced by noise expert Steve Albini. Pre-order facilities here.

All details here. INTERNAL WORLD roars big time. Basically a simple, yet unstoppable, catchy tune à la Weezer , drenched in a blustery bath of stupendous riffs with anthemic
effect on your ears. “No, I’m not the one who’s always right.” sings frontman Dylan Baldi in the chorus. No need for that as long as we can bang our heads and shake our shoulders
to crackers like this. Trust me, a couple of spins and you we will be hooked…
