Guitar Pop Bliss – CRYSTAL CITIES Start 2021 With New Single ‘JENNY? HOW WERE WE TO KNOW’

2 January 2021

Sydney’s guitar pop/rock act CRYSTAL CITIES will spoil
our ears this year with sophomore longplayer called
HOLD ME CLOSE HOLD ME TIGHT.

It will be out when all 10 tracks have been seeing the day of light as
individual singles with each song getting the chance to be absorbed
and appreciated by their fans rather than getting overlooked.

Jared King (Bass and backing vocals) explains: “I think content and momentum
are two very important things to be aware of in the streaming-age. Releasing multiple
songs all at once is wasted potential in my eyes. We’ve worked so hard on each and
every track on this album so why not let each one have it’s time in the spotlight rather
than getting lost in the noise of an entire album release all at once.”

To start the new year CC reveal another, the fourth, new single of the upcoming
full length. JENNY? HOW WERE WE TO KNOW shows again what the Aussies do
best. Creating multidimensional pop tunes with an instant impact on your aural
radar. Like little symphonies coming down to earth from a sky-high universe.

How did we get back here?
Where do we go from here?
Jenny, how were we to know?

Ecstatic Power Pop Whirlwind – Here’s Ardent Single ‘DON’T SPEAK TOO SOON’ By CRYSTAL CITIES

Daily fuel to load your sonic batteries…

CRYSTAL CITIES is a band from Sydney, Australia who come a long way
in a short period of time with a cinematic sound and grandiose aesthetic.
Last year their excellent debut album Under The Cold Light Of The Moon
confirmed their musical ambitions just perfectly.

With new single DON’T SPEAK TOO SOON this thrilling
three-piece make another grand impression.

“‘Don’t Speak Too Soon’ is my first attempt at being an engineer and producer. It
was a lot more involved than just showing up to the studio to record my parts! I
think more hours were spent reading and watching tutorials than actually recording.
One of the biggest mental and technical hurdles I had to overcome was losing all my
vocal takes and having to re-record them all over again”
says frontman Geoff Rana.

The new piece is an ecstatic whirlwind, an unstoppable power-pop crackerjack,
a fantabulous guitar-fueled knockout blow, a bang-up stormer leaving you out
of breath in the end. I’m sure megastars The Killers would love to hear this tour
de force. And so do you.

When did these lights go out?
Watching the slow hand move
Now, did I say too much?
Did I speak now too soon?

CRYSTAL CITIES – Moony Dream Pop Debut From Down Under…

Vibes that thrills us in a way we want to scream out loud…

shoutout

‘Who’s Gonna Save Us Now’ by CRYSTAL CITIES

After a year of writing and recording in a garage Sydney‘s trio CRYSTAL CITIES released their 6-track debut EP, titled WHO’S GONNA SAVE US NOW this month. A mesmerizing entirety of sparkling pop reflections. At times the romantic tone of the songs sounds like Band Of Horses and The War On Drugs having a midnight session under a sky full of stars. The title track of the EP, also the single, is my favorite and ‘who’s gonna save us now‘ is also the crucial question for the troubled times we all experience right now on our planet. It’s
a highly appealing pop daydream build around a catchy melody and colored with poetic guitar lines and lighthearted vocals. Moony splendor designed for heart and soul. The accompanying video visualizes the overall nostalgic mood beautifully. Set in the 1940’s,
the clip follows the journey of two young child compadres as they escape from their well-to-do life, exploring the Australian countryside, and searching for truth from a perspective of innocence and vulnerability. Roll the tape, here’s some magic…

I guess we’re all in the right mood
now for more. Here’s the EP in full…
