Band: THE SLOW READERS CLUB

Who: Alt-pop rockers
from Manchester, UK.

Track: BOY SO BLUE
Single from their notable 7th album,
Out Of A Dream, released last March.

“‘Although it’s a big, joyous dance track, it’s about hiding deep emotional pain and trauma and how hedonistic coping mechanisms, like drugs, alcohol, and womanizing, are just temporary distractions.”

TUTV: This is what amazing pop-ular music is all about. Big melody, big emotions, big orchestration. Euphorically sticky as first-class glue despite its dramatic ‘real life‘ story. Aftermath soul-searching can work cathartically.

genre-bending new wave band The Pop Group

Track: A LONG ROAD
From his sublime, 8th solo LP The Fateful Symmetry,

Goosebumps! Nothing but goosebumps!

NRVS – Mysterious British Guitar Indie Trio Surprise With Bluesy Gem ‘FREE’

7 July 2025

Photo: Emma Chitty | Graphics: Mike Raymond

Band: Nrvs
Who: Mysterious trio with an inimitable take on
humanity’s downward spiral into a dysfunctional
entropic existence.

Track: FREE
New single from their
upcoming album.

A strikingly alternative lament about the existential experience of heartbreak,
or as the band put it “Just another dumb song about love found & lost within the
wreckage! It happens… what are you gonna do?”

TUTV: Following their punk-groovy 2024 debut EP Like You Nrvs surprise with this
rather melancholic tune that sticks after just one spin. Its bluesy guitar radiance, its
bass-beat-heavy cadence and despondent vocals get under your skin faster than you can say ‘Oasis are mad for it again’. And its melodic catchiness has irresistible written all over it. In a normal world this should be a bloody big hit. You know where to find the repeat button, folks.

IGGY POP Drops New Ambient Track From His Upcoming LP – Here’s ‘SONALI’…

New sonic impulses

28 August 2019

Living rock legend IGGY POP announced his new album
called FREE some weeks ago. it will be out on 6th September.

Mister Pop said in a press statement: “This is an album in which other artists speak for me, but I lend my voice. I know that’s an illusion, and that freedom is only something you feel, but I have lived my life thus far in the belief that that feeling is all that is worth pursuing; all that you need – not happiness or love necessarily, but the feeling of being free. So this album just kind of happened to me, and I let it happen.”

So far the icon shared the atmospheric Intro of the new full length and the jazzy bass-loaded lead single ‘James Bond’. Here’s cut number three. ‘SONALI’ has a trippy and ambient feel and confirms that Pop‘s new album will be an intriguing affair. Listen here…
