Former Rage Against The Machine guitar hero
TOM MORELLO played at Download Festival UK.

He played a set of provocative, politically-fuelled songs, including
‘Killing In The Name’, ‘Soldier In The Army Of Love’, as well as Ozzy
Osbourne’s ‘Mr. Crowley’ and John Lennon’s ‘Power To The People’.

He took the occasion to send a clear message to the British far-right
activist Tommy Robinson (born Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon), who
was arrested the day before, with a big sticker on the back of his guitar
that read FUCK TOMMY ROBINSON.

23-year-old Californian mega pop star OLIVIA RODRIGO has released her 3rd LP, named You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love with Rodrigo going upside down on the cover.

Pitchfork: “Rodrigo has never sounded more adventurous—some fans might miss the bratty sarcasm, but Rodrigo is now a twentysomething eager to take a few big steps out of her comfort zone.”

Pretty cool image of one of the coolest and most genial artists ever.

On August 28th, a new PRINCE (1958-2016) compilation of
10 rare and unreleased studio recordings will be out via Sony.

One of the tracks is Stone, recorded in 1995, which at one point
was slated for his Emancipation LP, but wasn’t included on it
in the end.

British superstar CHARLI XCX (born Charlotte Emma Aitchison in Cambridge, England
33 years ago, has announced the birth of her upcoming 7th album. It’s titled MUSIC, FASHION, FILM, and will be shared with the world on July 24th.

The album cover is both incredibly surprising and utterly cool. It features Welsh
rock legend John Cale (with whom she wrote the song House for her soundtrack
album for this year’s Wuthering Heights movie), American fashion designer
Marc Jacobs and iconic film director Martin Scorsese.

Charli XCX already has teased the album previsuoly with 2 singles.

Wacky disco-rap-punk duo from Bristol, UK are gearing up for their
second album, following their invigorating 2023 debut LP Crisps.

The new one is named Massive Champion
and will see the day of light on August 14.

Ahead of it they’re on the cover of NME.

Image Of The Day – Pencil Sketch Of Cover Of THE BEATLES Classic Album ‘REVOLVER’

German musician and designer KLAUS VOORMANN (now aged 88) met the Fab Four in their early days when they played in bars in Hamburg. He played here and there on Beatles‘ albums as a session collaborator, but is probably best known for designing the front cover of the band’s classic LP Revolver.

For his iconic creation, Voormann was inspired by The Yellow Book,
a British quarterly literary periodical that was published in London
from 1894 to 1897.

A couple of days ago, I stumbled upon this Voormann pencil sketch for the LP.

Last year the Smashing Pumpkins‘s commander in chief Billy Corgan
celebrated the 30th anniversary (25 October 2025) of masterstroke LP
Mellon Collie And Infinite Sadness with some spectacular, orchestral
and big choir shows in the US.

Now, UK and European dates are announced for the grandiose operation.
