KILL YOUR BOYFRIEND Hit Hard With Their Brand New King-Sized Uppercut From Upcoming Album

Daily electricity to load your batteries

5 September 2022

Who: An Italian two-piece Psych tinged,
Post-Punk Industrial Rock & Roll outfit.

Active: Since 2011 / 3 studio albums so far: Kill Your Boyfriend (2013),
The King Is Dead
(2015) and Killadelica (2020)

New album: VOODOO – their 4th
Release: 14 October 2022 via Sister 9 Recordings (Europe),
Little Cloud Records (North America) and Shyrec (Italy).

With ‘Voodoo’, Matteo Scarpa and Antonio Angeli, explore new genres and expand the sonic borders, without losing their original intent. They replace the synth bass with a bass-guitar, adding more fluidity and weight to a renewed and punchier rhythmic section. Electronic and acoustic percussion are fuller and heavier, and the band’s new stomp-machine is a hyper-convulsive version of the saturated Rock & Roll and R&B drumming, from the cheap garage studios of 1950s indie labels.

Lead single: THE KING

This maddening uppercut did my head in with just one spin. Its hyperkinetic velocity,
its psychotic guitar frenzy, its ominous vocals, it all awakes the demons in your
confused 2022 mind. KYB turn on all cylinders for this mean motherrocker that
accelerates with an over-the-top force. This king-sized rampage is sublime.

Listen/watch and get overwhelmed.

Italian Psych Post Punks KILL YOUR BOYFRIEND Release New Blustering Single… ‘ELIZABETH’

Daily fuel to load your sonic batteries…

30 November 2019

Italian psych post-punk duo KILL YOUR BOYFRIEND from Venice, Italy is already prodcing dark waves since 2011. So far they released two full albums and a string of singles and EPs. And as I could experience myself last year, on stage they’re a hair-raising force.

The buzzing pair just released their brand new single ‘ELIZABETH‘. It sounds like a blustering killer shock where menacing industrial and hammering electronic dynamics meet and clash in harmony. Add Antonio Angeli‘s manic Krautrock percussion and Matteo Scarpa‘s demonic ‘Why Are You Here?‘ vocals and what you get is a merciless knockout. It
all starts with thunderous tension being built up, but midway the pace slows down mysteriously, and a sonic chainsaw-like intermezzo sounding horrifically serves as the ominous harbinger for an earthquake finale that may blow up your speakers. Expect a hellish and volcanic eruption! Absofuckinglutely!

Tune in and shiver right here…

Darkwave Turbine ‘KILL YOUR BOYFRIEND’ Inflamed The City Of Ghent With Gothic Punk Smacks…

KILL YOUR BOYFRIEND – Kinky Star – 5 April 2018

KILL YOUR BOYFRIEND is the title of a macabre comic book with the story written by Grant Morrison. It’s also an Italian trio of shattering Goth punks sounding like Sisters
Of Mercy
on speed instead of Valium, like The Jesus And mary Chain with crashing slams instead of pop tunes, like Joy Division losing control completely. The band was formed
back in 2011 by Matteo Scarpa on (guitar, vocals) and spectacular drummer Antonio Angeli Yesterday this two-headed turbine, assisted by a thumping bassist, produced a non-stop eruption of mind-boggling darkwave hullabaloo. Hair-raising, deafening, tons of piercing feedback and bloody entertaining overall. Their sonic shit navigates perfectly between all post-punk clich├ęs. Their razor blade havoc covers several decades, but you can’t really label them, which proves that this squad moves in a dark zone of their own. Hallelujah! Here’s an idea of their inflammable act…
