Info: Rich in sonic versatility, the eleven songs of Magna Zero’s The Great Nothing are a thrilling joyride past distant stars towards the mystic void, which ultimately lies within each of us as a key to inner peace. The tracks explode and whisper, caress and shred, while hope for a compassionate future emerges intact. The band describes The Great Nothing as a journey to ‘be free and let go,’ to ‘give up oneself to find the self’, and to ‘become nothing by paradoxically experiencing unity with everything’.

As a psychedelia freak myself I championed this L.A. trio before with reviews of singles from the upcoming debut longplayer. I had the opportunity to hear it and my eager ears told me that an intriguing, notable, and mindboggling work is on its way.

These 6 out of the 11 tracks offers you a crystal clear impression of the great nothing.

– WE ARE ALL –
Towering cry out for tolerance and unity.
Puzzling brilliance reaching for the sky.

– EAT YOU UP –
Scary and scorching powerstroke. It expresses the desire
to consume all that plagues and haunts one’s true love.

– WALKING TO NOTHING –
Mindblowing Odyssey into the unknown.

– STEP INTO THE LIGHT –
Amplified slo-mo jam in search of
the light at the end of the tunnel.

– ALL MUST GO –
Rockin’ and rollin’ to free yourself.

– ENDURE –
Early Pink Floyd echoes

Across The Universe With Psych Act MAGNA ZERO – Here’s New Single ‘WALKING TO NOWHERE’

Daily electricity to load your batteries

20 January 2023

Band: MAGNA ZERO
Who: Lifelong friends and bandmates from Los Angeles who explore what it
means to be human through their music with a journey through a metaphorical
black hole with the band as they meld an unforgettable musical experience
into their colorful cauldron of Space Rock.

New single: WALKING TO NOWHERE

“It’s an extended voyage of heavy psych-rock into the death of
the ego and the paradox to find oneself by becoming nothing.”

The single’s impressive artwork

TUTV: Following previous single Endure, Magna Zero return into the cosmos again,
far away from our self-destructing world. En route, they play a flabbergasting prog-rock jam injected with psychedelic Krautrock echoes, puzzling dynamics, nerve-racking guitars and far-out primal screams. In the end it feels like they’re going to crash into the infinite unknown. Maybe they did.

The Police walked on the moon, The Beatles floated across the universe,
and Magna Zero catapulted themselves into a black hole called nowhere.
Scary thought.

Start the Odyssey here.

New Single: I THINK YOU’RE WONDERFUL

“I wrote this song about my good friend Nicole who is dying of cancer and
autoimmune disease. She is an amazing person who is so full of life and joy
even though she’s been given up until 5 years to live. She infuses 70,000 people’s
white blood cells every week to stay alive because if she didn’t she could die of a
simple paper cut to her finger. Nicole is such a loving and free person who faces
death every day with strength and vigor. This song is dedicated to her and her life.

It’s a hypnotic electronic jam with Krautrock-like dynamics.

May the road rise with Nicole…

Single: WE ARE ALL

It’s a song for peace, calling on us all to find the common ground that can help heal the division that threatens further hatred, war, and genocide in the world today. The music video juxtaposes imagery of violence and destruction with scenes of human connection, friendship, and family to highlight the deepest bonds between each other as a starting point on the path to peace.

Once upon a time, R.E.M. sang about the end of the world as we know it. Humankind survived since then, but Doomsday glares again at the horizon. Pandemics, wars, intolerance, racism, and so forth. It doesn’t look good… again. Only together we
can change the threatening tide.

We Are All is an amplified darkwave stroke with an ominous tone and
a shadowy feel, yet it’s about hope, about us all, about our future.

Here comes the call to peaceful arms.
