MORNINGFACE & SLIPSTREAM Joined Sonic Forces For Psychedelic Pearl… ‘I DON’T WANNA KNOW’

Daily fuel to load your sonic batteries…

Ethereal Portland daydreamer Kate Hummel aka MORNINGFACE shared a stirring
beauty online. I DON’T WANNA KNOW is a delightful collaboration with Mark Refoy
who was part of Spacemen 3 and Jason Pierce‘s awesome Spiritualized. After leaving Spiritualized (1994) Refoy started his own – still ongoing – project called Slipstream.

Every great song has a great story. Here’s Hummel‘s story about how she met Refoy
and how they joined forces to create this amazing, mind-pleasing vibration…

“I came across a ‘Slipstream’ song on Soundcloud called Girl From The Black Country.
It really blew my mind. I didn’t even put two and two together that Mark was part of my
two favorite bands ‘Spacemen 3’ and ‘Spiritualized’. I had wanted to collaborate with him
but was afraid to ask, but one day I did and he said yes. I had a rough song called ‘I Don’t Wanna Know’. I sent it to him and what he sent me back actually made me nauseous when
I first heard it, it was that good. It sounded a bit like Spiritualized’s Shine A Light with the arpeggiated guitar and I hold that song in the highest esteem. Recently I was in England
and we actually got to meet up and finish the song. I added harmonica in B which we then bastardized unrecognizable with repeater into a drone. Mark’s a prince of a man and a
brilliant musician/producer. A complete honor to work with him and have his support.”

I DON’T WANNA KNOW will touch your sonic senses instantly. Its transcendent resonance and elevating tunefulness are truly delightful and entrancing. The starry-eyed combination of MORNINGFACE‘s soulful vox and SLIPSTREAM‘s magical guitar wizardry is a sparkling triumph. Sit back, relax, press the button and enjoy the mind-massage right here…

Psychedelic Extravaganza With DOROTHY VALLENS And MORNINGFACE On New Album ‘THE MFDV’…

Brand new sonic impulses

4 August 2018

Spiritual Portland daydreamer Kate Hummel aka MORNINGFACE and DOROTHY VALLENS, British band led by London psych addict Joe Rosam, joined hands, spirits, visions and songs for brand new longplayer THE MFDV. Two astonishing jams are the kaleidoscopic result of their combined forces, two hallucinatory trips are conceived in the experimental minds of Dorothy Vallens and five blue-sky meditations are designed by Morningface (one featuring Black Sand and one featuring League Of Sonic Discovery)

It all starts with an intoxicating, 25-minute (yes, twenty-five) Velvet Underground cruise by
Dorothy Vallens. An extended psych experience that will impress your auditory universe. The following two tracks are the joint ones. Two riveting performances bringing legendary noise wizards Spacemen 3 back to live. Afterward Morningface starts her mesmeric journey with the multi-layered distortion of the brilliantly titled ‘Sharpening Knives In Heaven’ and continues with her acoustically colored musings. Her intrinsically heartfelt reflections fit this LP’s full sonic picture perfectly. Dorothy Vallens closes the roller coaster extravaganza
with a wayward groove, notable for its Ray Manzarek like keyboard play. All striking stuff!

Open your ears, mind and soul for this
psychedelic extravaganza and drift away…
