It’s hard to say goodbye to such an unqiue artist, such an inspiring personality,
such an attractive human being, such a bedazzling voice. And if you go surfin’ on
the internet you’ll see a tsunami of love for her, even from some people who hated
her because of her controversial point of views, well, controversial in the opinion
of those critics.

Anyway, I’ll just focus on O’Connor‘s vocal
brilliance again (and again and again).

This 2007 live performance of her greatest – Prince written – hit
NOTHING COMPARES 2 U (almost 295 million streams on Spotify)
sends shivers down your spine.

SARAH WALK is a Los Angeles based singer-songwriter with
a crystal voice balancing between chanteuses Angel Olsen and
Sharon Van Etten.

She recently shared an amazing version of global hit Nothing
Compares 2 U written and recorded by the late great Prince
and made world-famous by Sinead O’Connor back in 1990.

Walk: “I didn’t want to get too inside the other versions that
already existed because I wanted to make sure I approached
it my own way.”

Her version is wholly affecting with an ongoing magnetic piano
touch, a heavy-hearted orchestration, and her goosebumps
voice. Mesmeric rendition!

The Late Great CHRIS CONNELL Thrills With His Heartbreaking Cover Of ‘NOTHING COMPARES 2 U’

It’s almost three years (17 May 2017) since troubled singer/songwriter and towering voice CHRIS CONNELL decided, due to severe depression problems, to leave this world. A really sad loss. He fronted grunge icons Soundgarden, founded Temple Of The Dog and made a lasting impression as a solo artist.

While surfing on the internet yesterday I came across his spine-tingling, acoustic version
of Prince‘s brilliant love ballad ‘NOTHING COMPARES 2 U’, made famous, worldwide, by Sinead O’Connor. His utterly gripping vox and the weeping cello bring you to tears. Get goosebumps right here…

Dublin born singer/songwriter SINEAD O’CONNOR‘s second, breakthrough album ‘I DO NOT WANT WHAT I HAVEN’T GOT’ hit the top spot of the UK albums chart 29 years ago, on 24 March 1990. Her cover of the Prince written ballad ‘NOTHING COMPARES 2 U’ was released as the second single off the LP and made O’Connor a superstar. I guess anybody with a little bit of interest for music knows the moving, accompanying clip…
